Pink Tutu Rome: #1191 - A Dance Through the Eternal City
Buongiorno bella!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another installment of my Rome adventures! I've been absolutely smitten with this magical city. It's like stepping into a movie set – cobbled streets, ancient ruins, delicious smells of espresso and freshly baked bread, and enough charm to fill a lifetime. I feel like a little ballerina twirling through a dream!
Now, this is where my #PinkTutu mission truly comes to life. I mean, imagine: the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, all the beautiful churches and piazzas, with a pop of pink tulle in the background? It’s like a scene straight out of a ballet! My mission is to make the world a bit more fabulous, a little more colourful, and what better way to do that than with the most gloriously girly attire imaginable?
This week, I wanted to experience the Roman culture in all its glory. After all, there's no better way to get to know a city than through its theatre and its shopping! I headed to Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the opera house, and let me tell you, the building itself is almost as breathtaking as the performances. Marble, gold, ornate decorations... it felt like being transported back to the golden age! I saw “Tosca” - I've never experienced such powerful voices and such an emotive story.
I had to snag a new tutu to match the evening, of course! Shopping is a ritual, almost as important as the shows themselves, for a proper #PinkTutu girl. So I found this divine little shop tucked away in Trastevere called "Tutte le Rose" – literally translated, "All the Roses" – what more could I ask for?! The shopkeeper, an adorable woman called Signora Valentina, was so sweet, like a delicate, fragrant rose herself! She showed me the most beautiful fabric I'd ever seen – layers and layers of pink chiffon, with tiny gold sequins sprinkled across it. The fabric is now going to be a custom-made, truly bespoke tutu just for me, the queen of all pink tutu lovers.
This week has also been about savouring the deliciousness of Rome – not just the amazing food but the sights, the sounds, the whole atmosphere. I took a romantic evening stroll along the Tiber River, under the twinkle lights strung across the bridges. There’s just a magic in the air here, like everyone’s in on a little secret! I took in a performance of the street artists and musicians on Campo de' Fiori – the music had a rhythm that made my toes tap and my soul sing!
Rome is truly the perfect setting for a pink-loving ballerina. With every corner, every piazza, and every street, it's a whirlwind of historical beauty, romanticism, and culture, and a constant reminder of what a beautiful life can be. And it's all just waiting to be enjoyed... from a ballerina in a pink tutu, of course!
