Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! #1194

Wednesday, 25th April, 2018

Hello darlings! It's me, Emma, your favourite pink tutu-wearing travel blogger, back with another instalment from the breathtakingly beautiful city of Rome! It’s hard to believe that it’s been another week, because it feels like I just arrived. The sun is shining, the gelato is divine (can you tell I've been embracing the Italian lifestyle already?!), and Rome is already making its mark on my heart.

Rome really is the most incredible city. It’s buzzing with life, vibrant colours and smells, delicious food, and everywhere you look, there’s something fascinating to discover – ancient ruins, impressive buildings, quirky boutiques, you name it! This week I’ve been exploring the sights and sounds of the city, and I've discovered a whole world of beauty and inspiration, so let me spill the beans!

Train Adventures and Italian Fashion

My week started with a magical train journey to Rome, which always sets the mood for a fab adventure. I don’t know what it is about travelling by train – it feels so elegant, chic and romantic! And of course, my tutu was on show in the carriage, creating a sprinkle of pink magic amidst the passengers. My outfit for the trip was my new “Rosy Parisian Chic” look: A beautiful cherry red top with delicate embroidery paired with my favourite full pink tutu and stylish red polka dot ballerina flats.

As always, my favourite part of travelling by train is the chance to watch the world go by and soak up the unique charm of every town and city we whizz through. It’s such a great way to get a glimpse into the different cultures, fashion styles, and vibes of a place. And this journey was no exception, I spotted some incredible street fashion – think oversized blazers paired with trendy high-top sneakers and vibrant hues like cobalt blue and lemon yellow. This made me wish I had packed a larger suitcase because, darling, you know I couldn't resist picking up a few new items at the airport.

Fashion Frenzy: Exploring Rome's Boutiques

Speaking of fashion, my shopping spree in Rome is one of my favourite activities, Rome is overflowing with quirky boutiques bursting with unique designs, vintage treasures and timeless classics. One shop I can't wait to recommend to you lovelies is The Butterfly Garden in the Trastevere area. The name itself is a whimsical delight, and the clothes inside match perfectly – they’re airy and flowy, and there’s a delicate charm to every item. I snagged a stunning floaty dress that is perfect for twirling and catching the sun’s rays in this wonderful city.

It's amazing how much you can discover simply by wandering through the streets! Yesterday, I stumbled upon a hidden little store tucked away on a tiny cobblestone street that sells exquisite handmade tutus! They had every shade of pink imaginable and all different designs - I could've stayed there for hours, and of course, I left with a beautiful tulle creation, because a girl can never have too many tutus. It’s going to be a stunning addition to my wardrobe – it'll be perfect for a day at the Colosseum or enjoying the Roman evening sunset!

Roman Delight: A Dance with History

Let's face it, Rome's history is what makes it truly magical. I was lucky enough to catch a ballet performance this week by the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. They put on a production of “Swan Lake”, and it was simply breathtaking. The setting was magnificent – the grandeur of the opera house, the ornate interiors, and the warm glow of the stage lights. The dancers were truly exquisite, and their movements told a captivating story. And as you all know, my heart leaps every time I see a performance that celebrates dance. After all, ballet is such an art form and an outlet for the soul - there’s such poetry and grace in every step!

However, you don’t have to go to a big ballet performance to experience Rome’s beauty! I even found myself captivated by the artistry of the local street performers, their passionate singing, and the lively sounds of accordions. And speaking of charming experiences, I had the most adorable encounter with a young girl yesterday, who had spotted my tutu and asked if I was a ballerina! My heart melted, and I shared a lovely chat with her about her ballet dreams. You never know where inspiration will strike! It's important to encourage young dancers, as there's nothing more magical than witnessing their enthusiasm for ballet.

A Day Out in Trastevere

Yesterday, I headed off to Trastevere - this part of Rome is famous for its charming cobbled streets, traditional architecture and delightful restaurants and bars. It's the perfect spot for enjoying a lazy afternoon exploring, soaking in the lively atmosphere, and having some delectable pasta dishes – yes, I can confirm the spaghetti alla carbonara is as amazing as you’ve heard! The beauty of Rome is that there is always something fascinating just around the corner. The vibrant mix of old and new makes the city such a visual treat. You could spend weeks in this area and still be discovering new hidden treasures and exciting experiences.

Pink Tutu Vibes

You know, Rome truly embodies that 'la dolce vita' attitude - that beautiful feeling of living a joyful, indulgent and elegant life. It’s a feeling that resonates so much with the Pink Tutu vibe, don't you think? It’s all about embracing happiness, spreading positive vibes and embracing all that life has to offer, which means indulging in a bit of fashion, laughter, a delicious treat or two, and always wearing your favourite pink tutu, no matter where life takes you!

So there you have it, darlings, another week in the incredible city of Rome! This time it’s filled with ballet inspiration, charming fashion finds and an overload of the joys that only a trip to this magnificent city can offer.

Make sure to follow me on social media for more of my Italian escapades! Until next time, ciao bella!

Love,

Emma xx
