Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! #1202
Wednesday, 20th June 2018
Ciao bella! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu wearing, ballet-obsessed travel blogger, back with another post from the magical city of Rome! Can you believe it? I've been living my best life here for a whole week now, and I'm already hooked on its beauty, charm, and of course, the delicious gelato!
This week has been a whirlwind of gelato, gladiators, and, of course, tutus. I always say, "Life's too short to not wear a pink tutu!" And let me tell you, Rome is the perfect place to twirl around in your favourite tulle. It's got this vibrant, colourful energy that just makes you want to twirl!
Speaking of tutus, you know how much I love me a good ballet show, right? This week, I finally got to experience the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma! The energy of the theatre, the smell of history, the grace of the dancers... pure magic! I saw "Giselle" and it was absolutely stunning. I'm still thinking about the choreography, the music, the passion - and those pointe shoes, I swear they danced right through my heart.
But, even more magical than the theatre, were the sights and sounds of Rome itself. The Colosseum! The Trevi Fountain! The Pantheon! Walking through history felt like stepping back in time - and even more incredible was knowing that all these majestic structures have stood for centuries.
The Colosseum was particularly inspiring, with its huge arches and historical tales whispering from the very stones. The Roman Forum, too, was so breathtaking. Just imagining the people and events that played out centuries ago in this very place gave me goosebumps. Honestly, the history buffs in me were totally buzzing.
Then, of course, there's the food! Oh, the food! From the most incredible pasta dishes I've ever tasted to the authentic pizzas with fresh mozzarella (a personal favourite) - every single meal has been a feast for the senses. It's been an absolute delight trying all the local delicacies, and let's not forget the gelato - I've been trying to visit a new gelateria every day!
But, as always, it's not just about the food and sightseeing - it's about the feeling, the energy of a place. Rome, for me, is all about romance. The city has an irresistible air of history, romance, and art that pulls you in and holds you captive. It's definitely a place where I can see myself spending a lifetime!
On top of that, the city's vibe has inspired a whole new collection of pink tutus I'm designing for you all! Picture: bold shades of rose gold, silky fabrics, and a dash of that iconic Roman glamour. It's going to be an absolute stunner - just you wait!
This week's been packed, and you know what else I managed to do? Shop till I dropped, naturally! This is a city that truly understands the joy of a fabulous fashionista - from the glamorous designer boutiques of Via Condotti to the more budget-friendly independent stores, you can find everything and anything! I was even lucky enough to stumble upon a beautiful vintage store, filled with stunning clothes from decades past. A girl can never have enough tutus, you know, and let's be honest - vintage ones are like finding a treasure.
One thing's for sure, though: Rome will always have a special place in my heart - and this certainly isn't the last time I'll be sharing the magic of this Italian gem with all of you! I'll be here every Wednesday, sharing all the latest adventures on my website, www.pink-tutu.com - keep your eyes peeled, you might just spot a pink tutu-clad ballerina popping up somewhere around town!
So until next Wednesday, ciao for now!
P.S. Don't forget, if you love pink tutus as much as I do, be sure to share your snaps and adventures with me using #PinkTutuRome! I can't wait to see all your gorgeous tutu photos. ๐
*P.P.S A little tip for fellow travellers: always book a table for the traditional Italian Sunday lunch (La Domenica)! *
