Pink Tutu Rome: #1203 - La Dolce Vita, Pink Edition!

Ciao, darlings!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for your weekly dose of pink, tutus, and all things fabulous from yours truly, Emma, here in sunny Rome!

This week, I'm whisked back to my childhood dreams, dancing around cobbled streets, feeling the warmth of the Italian sun on my face, and living my best La Dolce Vita, pink tutu edition!

As you know, I love travelling by train. This trip, however, had a particularly special touch. Boarding the train in Derbyshire, England, I felt a tingle of excitement knowing that this journey would take me to the heart of the Eternal City.

I swear, my pink tutu seems to have its own magic. I just slip it on, step onto the platform, and the world transforms into a ballet!

The train journey was a dream. Watching the landscape roll by through the window, the fields, the villages, everything just seemed so picturesque, just like in a painting!

Arriving in Rome, the air crackled with a different kind of energy. The streets pulsed with a symphony of car horns, laughter, and the alluring scent of espresso and freshly baked bread.

First Stop: The Trevi Fountain!

I practically skipped from the train station to the Trevi Fountain, fuelled by excitement and my very own "Pink Tutu" gelato, a special concoction of strawberry, rose and bubblegum!

Rome is like stepping into a film, you just can't help but want to pose, to capture the beauty and magic of the city!

The Trevi Fountain lived up to all my expectations! Itโ€™s such an iconic landmark and the epitome of Roman charm. I did what everyone does - I closed my eyes, tossed in a coin, and whispered a wish for my dream โ€“ for everyone to embrace the beauty and joy of the pink tutu!

Fashion and Frolic in Rome

Being in Rome is all about indulging in the finer things in life. Of course, the first thing that came to mind was shopping!

I strolled through the narrow cobblestone streets of Trastevere, which felt like a scene from "Roman Holiday", my tulle swishing with every step! There were adorable boutiques on every corner, and I couldn't resist a beautiful, hand-painted fan, all in shades of blush pink, of course!

A Ballet in the Basilica

You all know how much I love my ballet performances. On Tuesday evening, I went to a performance at the Basilica di San Clemente. I know, right? What a spectacular venue for a ballet performance! The show was stunning, blending ballet with contemporary dance and a touch of classical Italian music. The audience was captivated, and the entire atmosphere was one of wonder and enchantment. I just felt transported!

Food, glorious food!

No trip to Rome is complete without a culinary adventure. I ate my weight in pasta, from carbonara to cacio e pepe, I even managed to try a pink-coloured gelato called "rosa moscata" - the ultimate pink-tutu treat!

I can't help but fall in love with Italy's vibrant culture and the friendly faces everywhere I go! Even the most famous sights feel intimate here!

This week's "pink-tutu tip":

If you want to channel your inner "La Dolce Vita", get yourself a pink beret. This Parisian-inspired accessory is perfect for a dash of elegance and Parisian charm to your outfit!
