Ciao from Rome, darlings! Emma here, your trusty tutu-wearing travel companion, reporting live from the Eternal City! Today marks the start of a whirlwind adventure as I navigate cobbled streets and soak in the Italian magic, all whilst, of course, rocking my signature pink tutu – can't let that go for even a day, can we?
It's been a journey to get here, but honestly, who doesn't love a good train adventure? My recent performance at the Buxton Opera House in my hometown of Derbyshire raised just enough to get me to Rome. Now, let's be real, nothing compares to a live ballet show. It's not just about the dancing; it's the energy, the stories we tell with our bodies, the connection you feel with the audience... that's why I absolutely adore my life as a performing ballerina! And of course, it helps that the dresses are fabulous.
Speaking of fabulous, have you seen the Roman streets?! They're a kaleidoscope of colours, sounds, and history – seriously, it's almost overwhelming! But in a good way, obviously. I love feeling the energy of this ancient city, feeling like I'm part of a grand theatrical production myself!
First on my list, naturally, is a spot of ballet class at the prestigious Teatro dell'Opera di Roma! Can't let those dancing legs go slack, darling! Plus, I can't resist the chance to meet local dancers and maybe even swap some pointe shoes tips.
Now, my dear readers, this is where the real magic starts - a little pink tutu action! Now, imagine a perfect setting – cobblestone streets, a pastel-coloured gelato stand, and me twirling in a bright pink tutu under the Tuscan sun. This is where the camera phone comes out!
Remember that gorgeous pink tutu with the layers of tulle I snagged from that amazing vintage shop in Derbyshire? I knew it would be perfect for Rome! It’s all about matching your style to your surroundings. Honestly, nothing says 'Rome' quite like a pink tutu!
Today's outfit is the epitome of effortless Roman chic. I've paired my pink tutu with a crisp white blouse, and my signature, knee-high ballet boots for a touch of playful elegance. To complete the look, a vibrant pink beret, my favourite travel accessory (and who doesn't love a good beret!), with my hair pulled back in a chic chignon.
This evening, we’re off to the Colosseum – yes, THAT Colosseum! I'm hoping for a little theatrical magic – who knows what kind of street performance might spring up in that stunning, historic setting. We'll definitely be on the lookout for a street dancer who could inspire me, maybe even a little impromptu tutu duet!
And what is a Rome adventure without a bit of shopping? Tomorrow, I'll be scouring the markets of Rome for hidden treasures, unique designs, and, of course, the perfect pink accessory for my outfit!
