Pink Tutu Rome: Post #1284 - Buongiorno from the Eternal City!

Wednesday 15th January 2020

Hello my lovely tutu-wearers! It's your girl Emma, fresh off the train from a whirlwind trip through Tuscany and ready to tell you all about my Roman adventures!

I can’t believe it's already been a whole week since I arrived in Italy. Time really does fly when you’re surrounded by stunning architecture, delicious food and vibrant culture! Rome has lived up to every expectation and then some. From the moment I stepped off the train and onto the cobblestone streets of Termini station, I felt like I’d been whisked away into a movie set!

Now, let's be honest, arriving in Rome was like a ballerina entering a dazzling new theatre! The sheer spectacle of the city left me gasping for air. I was ready to pirouette through every street, with a sprinkle of pink tutu magic, of course.

My week in Rome has been a beautiful dance of exploration and wonder. Every corner reveals a new marvel - from the colossal grandeur of the Colosseum to the quiet serenity of the Trevi Fountain. My Instagram is bursting with pics, but there’s just something about feeling the grandeur of ancient ruins in person. It's an experience that can't be replicated on a screen.

Speaking of experiences, one thing I knew I had to do was visit the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma! Let’s just say, I found the perfect outfit to blend in with the chic Italians at the ballet – my latest pink tutu with the shimmery silver details. I’ve always been a sucker for the dramatic and glamorous. The opera house itself was something straight out of a fairytale! We're talking grand staircases, opulent chandeliers, and velvet seating – pure, theatrical perfection. Of course, I couldn’t resist taking a few twirls on the grand stage, a true tutu moment in the heart of Rome. It’s moments like these that I know why I work so hard and keep on spinning, my ballet performances paying for these fabulous trips around the world!

Now, who doesn’t love a bit of Italian shopping? Well, let’s just say I went absolutely wild! Rome is like a paradise for a fashionista like myself, overflowing with the most exquisite fabrics, designs and leather goods. I couldn't resist picking up a beautiful blush pink clutch to add to my tutu-themed collection – because who can resist a little pink to brighten up an evening at the theatre?

I’m not going to lie, my inner shopaholic went slightly overboard, especially when I found a small independent shop selling the most exquisite handmade tutus. Of course, I snapped them up - my collection of pink tutus just grew! One with delicate lace and pink sequins and another with a beautiful floral pattern, ready to be my newest fashion statement. Just imagine how elegant those will look when I waltz through the streets of Rome!

But Rome isn't just about opulent history and dazzling fashion; it's about indulging in those little delights that make life truly special. I've been enjoying the most delicious pizza and gelato, each mouthful a celebration of Italian artistry. Even my morning coffee has become a special event. I can’t even explain the joy of sipping an espresso while watching the world go by. Oh, and don't forget the laughter, the warm Italian hospitality, and the delicious wine that made every dinner a reason to celebrate.

One of the best parts of travelling in Italy is how easy it is to navigate by train! The sleek and modern train lines whisk you through the beautiful Italian countryside, and it’s a fantastic way to travel and immerse yourself in the atmosphere. My latest tutu is a fabulous shade of coral, the perfect complement to the rolling hills of Italy, which were even more vibrant and lush. The other day, while taking the train to the Vatican, I couldn't resist showing off my moves in the aisle! Luckily, fellow passengers loved it – that tutu really did work its magic!

Tonight, I’ll be exploring Trastevere, a charming neighbourhood filled with quaint squares, romantic cafes, and the liveliest nightlife. Who knows what adventures await? My guess – more delicious food, beautiful shops and plenty of impromptu twirling with my favourite pink tutu.

So, dear tutu wearers, keep an eye out for more stories from my Roman adventure on www.pink-tutu.com next Wednesday. Until then, keep twirling, keep smiling, and remember, pink is always the answer!

Big hugs from sunny Rome,

Emma
