Buongiorno, darlings! Emma here, your Pink Tutu Queen, reporting live from the most romantic city on Earth: Rome! I just landed here last night and Iām already completely enchanted by this city's beauty and vibrancy. Think cobbled streets lined with buzzing piazzas, historical treasures around every corner, and oh, that heavenly aroma of fresh pasta wafting from every restaurant. I feel like I've stepped into a fairytale.
Now, for those of you who haven't been following my blog (where have you been?!), you should know Iām currently on my grand āPink Tutu Around the Worldā tour! This incredible journey is funded by my ballet performances, a fabulous mix of classical and modern ballets (that I get to design costumes for!). You see, I'm all about turning dreams into reality - a little twirl here, a little sunshine there, and voila, we're all dancing under a pink tutu sky!
So, back to Rome. This week's itinerary is jam-packed with exciting discoveries and fabulous adventures:
The Roman Holiday (In Pink, Of Course)Firstly, a little bit about getting here. I adore train travel, and nothing could beat the experience of rolling into Roma Termini in the heart of the city! A smooth journey (yes, even in my pink tutu, it was completely comfy) followed by a speedy taxi to my hotel - a charming boutique hotel with a hidden courtyard and gorgeous chandeliers. (Pink, naturally.)
My first full day in Rome was a whirlwind of colour, laughter and history. My first stop? The Colosseum, a marvel of architecture that made me feel utterly small yet powerfully connected to the gladiatorial battles of ancient times. Wearing a shocking pink tulle skirt, I felt every bit the āgladiator princessā in this epic setting!
Afterward, we explored the Forum - such a vast space and a stark reminder of Roman history! I twirled happily around the Forum, channeling all the history and grandeur into my steps. My little Pink Tutu entourage even attempted a flash mob to the iconic Ave Maria melody. You should've seen the look on the other tourists' faces! It was absolutely priceless.
Later, we discovered the Pantheon, a breathtaking building that's both grand and intimate at the same time. This awe-inspiring architecture left me feeling truly inspired - my muse was working overtime, sketching potential costume designs!
Pink Shopping Paradise!
It's not a trip to Rome without a little indulgence, so naturally, the afternoon was dedicated to finding treasures! Rome's Via Condotti is a shopperās dream, boasting a dizzying array of fashion houses. Think Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, the list goes on and on! Now, while I donāt exactly own a credit card with a bottomless budget, my pink tutu spirit couldnāt resist the lure of such gorgeous shops. So, I got myself a lovely pink scarf (silk, of course!) from Missoni to accessorise my ensemble!
And oh, did I mention the gelato?! I had a pink strawberry gelato that was absolutely to die for! You know how much I love pink, so that was just meant to be. It was the perfect reward after a long day of shopping and twirling.
Romance and Culture: A Romantic EveningSpeaking of romanticism, my evening was dedicated to exploring Rome's rich musical culture. There was a live performance of Puccini's āLa BohĆØmeā at Teatro dellāOpera. And it was absolutely spectacular. The music transported me back in time, immersing me in the love, heartache and triumph of the story. Oh, how I wish I had brought my Pink Tutu Ensemble ā it would've been perfect for the ballroom scenes! Instead, I felt myself channeling the graceful dancers onstage with every beat of the music.
Tonight, I am feeling incredibly grateful for all of life's blessings. Rome is definitely living up to its āEternal Cityā moniker. It is full of beauty, excitement and endless opportunities for inspiration.
Remember: You can live in a pink tutu world if you dare! You can be fabulous, fierce, and follow your dreams! And with the right pink tulle tutu ensemble, you can feel just as enchanting as Rome herself.
