Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! 🇮🇹

Post #1317 | Wednesday, 2nd September, 2020 | www.pink-tutu.com

Hello, darling! 🩰

I'm finally here in the Eternal City, and the sun is shining just like my pink tutu! ☀️ Rome, oh Rome! I've been dreaming of visiting for as long as I can remember. This gorgeous, historic city is dripping with charm, elegance, and of course, endless style inspiration.

I've just settled into my beautiful, pink-hued hotel room overlooking the Spanish Steps – talk about picturesque! They are even more magical in real life! And that view… simply breathtaking!

So, where to start? Let's rewind to my arrival. As a seasoned traveller, I opted for the romantic journey of a train journey from Derbyshire. My trusty pink travel case holding my Tutu De Jour was by my side – you know, the one with the glitter-splattered tulle and the handmade pink ribbon, all ready for a bit of Roman glamour.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves! I am, after all, on a mission. My ultimate aim, as you know, is to get the whole world to twirl in a pink tutu, and that's no easy feat. Rome is a great starting point – it's where emperors once ruled, after all! They definitely knew how to wear their finery – imagine a Roman senator rocking a tulle-lined toga, now wouldn’t that be a sight! 😂

Rome is truly buzzing. My senses are overflowing – from the aromatic scent of freshly baked focaccia bread and espresso (a perfect pairing for a pre-tutu twirl) to the lively, vibrant energy pulsating through the streets. There are motorbikes zipping past, men in impeccably tailored suits, and so many adorable dogs! Did I mention I'm a total dog person? 🐶

The fashion scene here is seriously on point! There’s a chicness in every street corner. I spied a gorgeous girl on my way to the hotel with a blush pink handbag the exact same colour as my new pink leather boots (purchased at a little shop I stumbled across in a back street – bargain of the century!). We made eye contact – she winked and gave me a playful thumbs-up! My mission to make the world pink is working, darlings!

But enough about the tutus for now. Today's plan of attack? You know I wouldn't be a true ballet fan without a trip to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. I'm all set for an evening of enchanting ballets and graceful dancers! I'm so excited! Maybe I'll even spot a pink tutu – you never know, you can never underestimate the power of a little pink! 😉

After the ballet, I'll be whisking myself off for some Roman grub. I'm planning on trying a new restaurant with a stunning view of the Coliseum, and I heard the pizza is out of this world!

Of course, I’ll be sure to share my favourite tips for finding the best pasta, my discoveries in Rome’s secret fashion havens, and what to wear to the Teatro. Stay tuned, darling, it's going to be an exciting journey through the city that never sleeps (or sleeps in a tutu)! 🩰🇮🇹

A Day in the Life: Pink Tutu Roman Adventures

It’s been a whirlwind of a day, and I am simply buzzing!

The Teatro dell’Opera: Ballet Beauty & Majestic Murals

Okay, darling, brace yourself. I’ve never experienced a ballet performance as grand and glorious as the one at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. It's a monumental opera house that instantly takes you back in time. The interior is pure beauty with sweeping staircases, opulent décor and a breath-taking stage. The dancers, dressed in intricate costumes, executed every move with grace and power, and I felt myself swept away to another world of music and art.

Even before the curtain went up, I couldn’t help myself, I had to sneak in a few ballet moves amidst the opulent chandeliers and grandeur! The majestic painted murals inspired my inner ballerina, and the energy in the air was electric – almost as captivating as the dancing itself. 🩰

Shopping Splurge: Chic Finds & Pink Delights

After the performance, my ballet-inspired enthusiasm and my fashion senses went into overdrive. It’s practically impossible to be in a place as fashionable as Rome and not get your hands on some goodies! 🛍️

I hit the Via Condotti – the Rodeo Drive of Rome! I managed to resist the temptation of designer labels (almost!) Instead, I discovered some divine vintage treasures hidden away in little shops tucked into alleyways and side streets. One was an absolute gem - it was stuffed with stunningly unique, designer pieces – some dating back decades! And there, tucked amidst an array of beautiful pieces, was a shimmering pink scarf with hand-painted floral motifs! You know I couldn't leave it behind! It’s going to be perfect for that chic vintage look - perfect with my pink tutu, n’est pas?

Rome's Feasting Ground: Food for Thought & Pink Champagne

Let’s talk food. Food is a big deal in Rome!

I headed to a quaint little restaurant tucked away from the bustling city centre - a hidden gem overlooking the Colosseum. My stomach rumbled just looking at it!

I was drawn to their signature dishes, fresh pasta, bursting with flavours and the lightest sauce - the perfect combination of comfort and deliciousness. And I couldn’t resist the divine selection of fresh cheeses – perfectly paired with a glass of crisp Italian sparkling wine! Pink tutu and pink bubbles – what a glamorous night!

A Bit of Italian History with a Pink Tutu Twist

Today I embraced a little history and some spectacular views! I walked along the Appian Way – the ancient Roman road lined with centuries-old ruins, just imagine the horses and chariots pulling through here! My head spun with the thought of gladiators and emperors traversing this path so many centuries ago, but also with the exciting idea of what would they think if they saw me gliding past in my pink tutu! 😉

The ruins are a real sight to behold! So full of history and captivating stories that are hard not to be pulled into the mystery and allure. My Tutu of the Day was just right, bright against the old Roman walls, I’m sure those ancient warriors would approve!

Of course, you can't come to Rome and not see the Colosseum! I mean, come on, the Roman Colosseum – a giant concrete arena for gladiatorial contests – just wow! There were hundreds of people around, a bit crowded but I squeezed in with my pink tutu for the obligatory selfies and pics with a historic backdrop. I just know I will remember this moment for ever!

Rome, you've been amazing, and I can't wait for more adventures in this beautiful city. Next week I’m off to discover the Vatican City! Who knows, maybe I’ll even bump into a pope or two – I can just imagine their faces! 😜 I have the perfect pink tutu for the occasion... you’ll have to wait and see!

So that’s it for now, my little lovelies. I'll keep you posted on my pink-tastic journey through Rome. And if you ever see a pink tutu fluttering amidst the ancient ruins or waltzing through the streets of this majestic city, know it’s probably me, living my best life and spreading the pink Tutu magic! Until next week, keep on twirling and spreading the pink! 💖
