Ciao bella! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another dose of pink tutu magic straight from the heart of Rome. This week's adventure has been a whirlwind of ancient history, stunning art, delicious gelato, and of course, the perfect excuse for a whole lot of shopping!
Now, I know what you're thinking - a tutu in Rome? Honestly, you'd be surprised how much it blends in with the vibrant energy of this city. It's almost like a modern-day gladiator in a world of marble and mosaics!
This week's trip started with a sunrise train journey. I must confess, I love the rhythm of train travel - the gentle rocking, the fleeting scenery, and the chance to observe people. My tutu, a blush-pink creation with a touch of sparkly netting, definitely caused a stir on the journey from Florence. I mean, can you imagine trying to resist a tutu-clad, giggling, slightly bonkers English girl? (I'll admit, I also made sure to snag a carriage window seat so I could snap a few Insta-worthy pictures!)
A Touch of History & Glamour:
Rome itself felt like a symphony of historical wonder - ancient ruins brushing shoulders with Renaissance art and chic Italian fashion. We began with the Colosseum, a colossal, haunting monument that whispers stories of gladiators and empires. My tutu felt perfectly at home here - after all, wouldn't a gladiator look pretty dashing in a bit of pink tulle?
Our afternoon was a ballet-filled delight, as we spent hours getting lost in the artistry of Rome Opera House. I almost got so caught up in the story, I nearly missed a whole ballet scene – something that usually happens to me only in class!

Speaking of je ne sais quoi, one can't have a Roman trip without experiencing the magic of pizza! This time, we tucked into our slices on a terrace overlooking the Forum and the Pantheon. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch the world go by with a pizza and a view of Roman history? It was honestly the best way to end a perfect Roman day.
Finding the Perfect Pink Tutu:
Every trip requires a touch of shopping therapy, right? And when in Rome, I thought, why not find the ultimate Italian pink tutu? Luckily, my adventure led me to a tiny, family-run costume shop nestled within the bustling heart of the city. Inside, amidst shelves bursting with shimmering costumes and fabrics, I discovered a glorious pink tutu that was just waiting for me.
