Ciao bellas! 👋 Emma here, back from another adventure, and this week it’s all about the Eternal City: Rome! A whirl of history, culture, and of course, Pink Tutu-fied fun – a triple-pirouette of excitement, my dears! 🩰
It’s Wednesday, my usual travel blog day, and as you know, my darling readers, the trains are my muse. The rhythm of the rails, the chatter of fellow travellers, the scenery whizzing by…it’s all part of the Pink Tutu travel experience. And let me tell you, the journey from Derbyshire, England, to Rome was nothing short of magical!
Rome, with its cobblestone streets and sun-drenched squares, felt like a fairytale brought to life. Every corner I turned was a photo op waiting to happen, and trust me, I was snapping away like a paparazzi with a pink tutu (which, of course, was the perfect pop of colour against the classic Italian backdrop). 📸
Ballet Beneath the Roman SkyThis trip, darling, has been all about experiencing the magic of Rome – a whirlwind of iconic sights and unforgettable moments. I made a beeline for the Colosseum, of course, marveling at its grandeur. I imagined gladiators clashing, the roar of the crowd echoing through the air… It was impossible not to feel a sense of awe and wonder. ✨
Next up, it was on to the Trevi Fountain, a spot I’d dreamt of visiting for ages! Throwing a coin over my shoulder (fingers crossed for a return trip!), I made a wish: To inspire every soul to twirl in a pink tutu. Now that’s a dream worthy of a fountain’s blessing, wouldn’t you say? ⛲️
Rome wasn’t just about historical wonders though. I stumbled upon a beautiful ballet school nestled in a cobblestone courtyard, hidden away like a secret garden. Their rehearsal was a sight to behold, the graceful movements, the pure artistry, it filled my soul with joy. This gave me inspiration to keep going on my tutu quest – to get every person in the world twirling and feeling as light and graceful as those dancers. 💕
Shopping for InspirationRome is, of course, a fashionista's paradise! Every street corner bursts with vibrant fabrics and unique designs, enough to send any fashion blogger's heart into a happy frenzy! I found myself spending hours browsing local boutiques, seeking out those hidden treasures, and you know I had to Pink Tutu-fy my wardrobe. I bought the most stunning silk scarf with a delicate floral print and an exquisitely-cut pink satin blouse with a touch of lace - the perfect pairing for my travelling tutu, n'est-ce pas? 🛍
Later, I visited the Galleria Borghese, a museum housing exquisite sculptures and paintings. One piece particularly captured my eye - a breathtakingly beautiful ballerina sculpture, her delicate pose and elegant grace truly resonated with me. As I stood mesmerized before her, I couldn't help but think about the powerful artistry of ballet and its ability to inspire and enchant. 💖
Speaking of inspiration, this city has me brimming with creative energy, which of course, means more content for my Pink Tutu blog. My upcoming ballet performances are going to have an added layer of Roman flair - just imagine, dramatic flourishes, evocative costumes…I’m already plotting the moves! ✨
Feasting on Roman DelightsOf course, no trip to Rome would be complete without indulging in delicious Italian cuisine! I savored the authentic taste of freshly-baked pizza, pasta so rich it could rival any dessert, and creamy gelato, that little lick of happiness. The cafes and restaurants were a symphony of aromas and vibrant energy, making every meal a delicious adventure. 🍝
