Ciao darlings! Itâs your girl Emma, back with another post from the breathtaking, enchanting, absolutely fabulous city of Rome! Iâm writing to you from my darling little apartment tucked away in a charming, cobbled street, just a skip and a hop from the Pantheon. Can you imagine, living mere moments away from one of the worldâs most magnificent architectural wonders? Pure magic!
I've always been a sucker for a good train journey, and my arrival in Rome yesterday was no exception. I settled into my compartment, surrounded by suitcases bursting with pink, my pink tutu neatly tucked inside, ready to twirl upon Italian cobblestones. I practically breathed in the excitement, each clickety-clack of the train a beat to the rhythm of my anticipation. You know I always bring my trusty travel ballet shoes! I squeezed in a quick practice session during the journey, because a ballerina never takes a day off, even in the most glamorous of settings!
As the train chugged closer to Rome, my excitement reached fever pitch. My head was overflowing with ideas for ballet-inspired photoshoots around the Roman Forum, the Trevi Fountain, even the Spanish Steps! This is truly a city that whispers to my creative soul.
Now, Rome, she's not just about the history and the ancient wonders, it's about the fashion! It's the perfect place to showcase my latest pink tulle creations, each one more vibrant, more luxurious, more twirl-worthy than the last! Oh, how I wish you could have seen my look for yesterdayâs sightseeing. I channeled my inner Italian chic with a hot pink tutu, complete with sparkling pink diamante accents (sparkle is always necessary!), paired with a classic black camisole and some of my favourite, high-heeled ballet pumps, adorned with pink satin ribbons. You'd have thought I stepped straight out of a fairytale!
The streets are bustling with vibrant life. Even the pigeons strut around with a certain flair! Everywhere I look there are these delightful cafes and bakeries with gorgeous pastries, the aroma just tantalising. I might have already enjoyed a slice of Tiramisu or two, oh and a scoop of strawberry gelato, can you blame a girl?!
The first stop on my Roman adventure, was the Colosseum. This incredible building really does take your breath away. Standing on the spot where thousands of gladiators once fought is spine-tingling! I couldn't help but twirl my tutu around, pretending I was a Roman ballerina in a breathtaking spectacle! I can almost picture it now - the crowds cheering as I take my bow amidst the fading sun⌠Maybe a bit ambitious, but it certainly made for a truly unforgettable memory!
Now, for my darlings in Derbyshire (don't think I've forgotten you!), the biggest surprise this week has been the discovery of the most delightful little ballet studio just around the corner from my flat. I can't help myself - I've already booked myself into their âBeginnerâs Tangoâ class tomorrow. Tango, darling! I simply must experience it, and who knows, maybe a bit of Tango magic might even find its way into my next tutu design!
