Buongiorno, darlings! Emma here, back from a whirlwind of a week in Rome! I know you're probably thinking, "Emma, what on earth were you doing in the Eternal City in a pink tutu?" Well, let me tell you, it was an absolute dream come true!
This trip was all about following the footsteps of history, savoring the Italian charm, and of course, indulging in some spectacular fashion finds. (Can you tell I'm already missing those heavenly gelato flavours and the perfect vintage brooches I snagged?)
I took the train, naturally! There's something magical about traveling by train, watching the world roll past in a blur of colour. My first order of business was to explore the Colosseum, a masterpiece of Roman engineering. Did you know it was once home to gladiatorial contests and public executions? Talk about dramatic!
After braving the crowds, I found myself in the heart of Trastevere, a neighbourhood known for its cobbled streets and vibrant nightlife. The warm Italian evenings made it the perfect place to enjoy a delicious pasta meal, soaking up the energy of this historic part of Rome.
But you know me, darling, no trip is complete without a little dance, right? The ballet bug bit hard while in Rome, and I simply couldn't resist attending a performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. The grandeur of the building, the grace of the dancers, the music that flowed through the theatre – pure magic!
Of course, my outfit for the occasion had to be something special. I wore a delicate pink tutu layered with a luxurious silk top, finished off with my trusty feather boa for a touch of vintage glam. It was the perfect blend of romantic elegance and cheeky fun, and I truly felt like a ballerina in a fairy tale.
Another highlight of my trip was a visit to the Trevi Fountain. Legend says that if you throw a coin into the fountain, you'll one day return to Rome. I tossed in my coin with a wish, hoping to return soon to discover more of this captivating city.
Rome was full of enchanting piazzas, art galleries, charming boutiques, and of course, an abundance of delectable Italian cuisine. The pasta, the pizzas, the gelato - everything was a taste of paradise!
Rome, I love you! You have a special place in my heart, especially since I discovered the perfect pink ballet shop tucked away in a back alley.
