Ciao Bella!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome adventure! As the sun bathes this beautiful city in a warm golden glow, I'm sipping on a cappuccino, swirling my pink tutu around my legs (yes, even in a café!) and ready to share my latest Roman escapades.
This week has been a whirlwind of fashion, food, and, of course, ballet. It's truly amazing how seamlessly those three can come together, even in a place like Rome. My darling readers, let me tell you, Rome is a ballerina's dream! The cobbled streets, the history seeping from every stone, the romance that hangs in the air... it's all so wonderfully theatrical.
Speaking of theatrical, I started my week with a splendid trip to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. This stunning venue, built in the early 20th century, is the heart of Rome's opera and ballet scene. You can practically feel the magic of countless performances within its walls. The night’s performance was Swan Lake, and I can still hear the lilting melodies dancing in my head. Seeing a classic like Swan Lake amidst such breathtaking architecture was a truly unforgettable experience.
Following my ballet fix, I was determined to indulge in a little pink therapy. The charming boutiques and vintage shops on Via Condotti were calling my name! With its abundance of chic designers and high-end labels, Via Condotti is a fashionista's paradise. Imagine a wonderland of lace, silk, and delicate pastel hues, a ballet dancer’s dream come true. I emerged with a gorgeous pink clutch, perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to any outfit. After all, a ballerina can't possibly be caught dead without a dash of pink.
But a true adventure wouldn't be complete without some delicious local flavour! Luckily, Rome’s food scene is simply divine. Picture this: me, twirling my pink tutu around a delightful plate of pasta alla gricia, enjoying the warmth of the Italian sun and the comforting taste of authentic Italian cuisine. Bliss! It’s incredible how this ancient city perfectly blends tradition and modernity.
Today, however, I'm heading off on a little adventure outside of the city centre. I’m hopping onto a train (I do love travelling by train, don't you? It's so romantic!) to explore the ancient ruins of Ostia Antica. The sheer scale of these remains from the Roman Empire is astounding! Imagine all the people who walked these very streets, living their lives centuries ago. It's truly fascinating!
Rome, you’re truly a city that captures my heart. I can't wait to explore more of your hidden corners and charming nooks. So, until next week, darling readers, remember – always twirl, always embrace the beauty around you, and, most importantly, wear a touch of pink wherever you go!

Pink Tutu Adventures: On This Day in History
Today, 21 June, marks the beginning of summer! It’s the longest day of the year and also the date of Father’s Day here in the UK. A happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. Now, I can’t help but think Father’s Day would be much more fun if Dad were twirling in a pink tutu, am I right?! 😉
On a personal note: I have to mention the beautiful ballet show I saw in Rome this week - The Nutcracker! I'm such a sucker for the magical Christmas ballet, and it was simply divine. If you ever find yourself in Rome over the festive season, make sure to check it out! You'll be transported to a winter wonderland in the blink of an eye.
