Ciao, darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad adventurer, bringing you the latest from the Eternal City – Rome! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another fabulous instalment of my Rome adventures, and let me tell you, this week has been a whirlwind of pasta, pink, and a whole lotta fabulous!

Think tutus, travel, and tons of fashion inspiration! It’s been my dream since I was a little girl in Derbyshire, twirling around in my very first tutu, to share my love of all things beautiful with the world. And what better way to do that than to explore some of the most stunning cities in the world, pink tutu in tow, of course!
This week’s trip to Rome has been particularly exciting. As always, I’m funding my travels with my ballet performances. Last night I danced in a spectacular charity gala at a beautiful theater in Florence, surrounded by opulent chandeliers and the most elegant crowd. They loved my interpretation of the 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy' - I had even added a touch of pink tulle to my costume, and of course, a splash of shimmering rhinestones! It’s moments like these that remind me how much joy ballet can bring, and the best part? Every performance brings me closer to my next destination.
Now, let's dive into the beauty of Rome!
A Walk Through History:
This morning, I wandered through the ancient heart of Rome. It's a breathtaking experience! The Colosseum, the Roman Forum – every turn is filled with whispers of a fascinating past. And even with thousands of tourists, it felt almost magical!
To fully appreciate Rome, one must embrace its rich history, which makes walking a must! As I meandered down cobblestone streets, the warm Roman sun dappling my face, I took a moment to enjoy the charming shops and cafe's with their inviting aromas and beautifully displayed pastries. Did you know that the traditional Roman treat is “Pizza al Taglio" - square slices of pizza sold by weight? I indulged, of course, opting for a slice topped with colourful vegetables. Absolutely divine!
Fashion Forward in the Eternal City:
And speaking of delicious, the fashion in Rome has been a true delight! From the sleek Italian leather handbags I saw in Via Condotti to the charming vintage stores in Trastevere, I'm inspired by the city’s chic flair.

Dinner Under the Stars:
After my whirlwind tour of Rome, I decided to indulge in the romantic Italian evening, savouring the magical beauty of this city. I headed to one of my favourite trattorias in Trastevere for a romantic, al fresco dinner.
Just the sound of music playing in the background, twinkling fairy lights illuminating the cobblestone street and the soft chatter of locals enjoying their dinner… It was truly romantic, I must say! And it wouldn’t be a romantic dinner in Rome without some pasta. I decided on "Cacio e Pepe," a creamy concoction of cheese and pepper, oh so delicious!
I paired this simple, yet perfectly crafted dish with a local Italian red wine. It was a night filled with a warm, Italian energy. Just the kind of magic one expects from a city known as the ‘Eternal City.'
La Dolce Vita on Two Wheels:
I’m obsessed with experiencing a city’s essence. There’s something truly magical about seeing a city from a different perspective. Today I took my adventure to the next level by exploring Rome by scooter! Picture me: helmet on, a whimsical pink tutu (the one with the feathers and sequins!), zooming through the city streets. Talk about turning heads!
Riding a scooter gave me an incredible opportunity to really experience the bustling energy of the city and witness the daily routines of the locals, which has always fascinated me. It’s so much fun to see how life unfolds outside of the traditional tourist spots.
Tutu Tuesdays - a new Italian Twist!
Of course, no Rome adventure would be complete without incorporating a little "pink tutu magic" into the local scene. It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu adventure without spreading the love of the tutu. I decided to start something new - "Tutu Tuesdays." On Tuesdays, I’ll head to different locations, encouraging people to embrace the "Tutu Movement!" I even had a chance to teach some ballet steps to local children! It was a day filled with smiles, giggles, and plenty of twirling! My ultimate aim is to turn this city pink! You never know, this might turn into a trend throughout Italy! Who knows?
