Pink Tutu Rome - #1479: Dancing Through the Eternal City!
Ciao Bella! It's Emma here, and I'm buzzing! As you know, Wednesday is Pink Tutu Rome Day! 💃🏻 This week, I'm bringing you my fabulous adventures in the glorious, romantic, food-filled city of Rome! If you follow my blog, you'll know I'm a firm believer that a good dose of tutu-wearing, laughter, and pink will make any journey utterly delightful.
And let me tell you, Rome is brimming with all three! From the moment I stepped off the train (which, as always, was a fabulously relaxing and scenic experience - I truly do love travelling by train!), I knew I was in for a treat.
Today, 11th October, has been filled with delightful discoveries and, of course, some seriously spectacular tutu moments.
The Ballerina's Delight: A Rome Morning
My day kicked off at a little cafe tucked away in a charming cobblestone alley. It was the perfect spot to enjoy my usual pre-dance cappuccino with an extra dash of sugar and, of course, a delightful almond croissant - I simply couldn't resist!
The cappuccino and croissants were just the perfect fuel for my dance lesson! I've always wanted to try a ballet class with an Italian teacher, and today was the day. I had found a fantastic studio just a short walk from my Airbnb (which I must say, is ridiculously chic, even more so when you add a strategically placed pink tutu and my little portable dressing table!).
The class itself was amazing. A lovely teacher, full of life and enthusiasm, took us through a series of exercises that were both challenging and delightful. You could feel the energy buzzing in the studio. It truly was inspiring! And my fellow dancers were all so lovely and welcoming! We all, of course, looked magnificent in our colourful tutus!
After my dance, I spent the afternoon exploring the Campo de' Fiori, a bustling square brimming with life. Imagine, if you will, cobbled streets alive with flower stalls, street food vendors tempting with their delicious aromas, and, oh, the laughter and chatter! This charming area oozed genuine Italian character.
The aroma of freshly made pasta simply dragged me into one of the adorable trattorias for a much-needed lunch. Pasta, glorious pasta! Topped with delicious sauce, and even a cheeky glass of red wine for good measure! I feel a delicious recipe post coming soon - but only after I've tried the recipe several times, naturally!
Sunset Wonders in the Colosseum
Rome's a city of endless beauty, and one of the things on my 'must see' list was, of course, the Colosseum! This monumental structure truly does leave you breathless. The sheer size, the sense of history that hung in the air, it was incredible! I actually couldn't resist a twirl in my pink tutu! The lighting, it was simply magical - just as good as the ballet performances I love to see!
A Night of Italian Delight: A Roman Treat
I then whisked off for an evening of romance and culture. Rome's famed Teatro dell'Opera offered a ballet performance. You'll never believe this, I actually bumped into another pink tutu wearer on the street! We exchanged our 'tutu-girl' smiles and exchanged a few ballet-related chats, how fantastic! We even managed to grab a photo with the statue of La Primavera just outside the opera house.
It was a stunning performance of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. My goodness, the ballerinas were ethereal, their graceful movements, and their stunning costumes were exquisite! It was the perfect way to round off a truly incredible day in this vibrant and captivating city!
Why I Love Rome
Rome has captivated me with its blend of history, art, fashion, and delicious food. Everywhere you look, there's something to inspire you! Whether it's the grand buildings, the intricate artwork in museums, or the stylish Roman fashionistas with their own flair! It's all just utterly enchanting!
And don't even get me started on the gelato! There’s nothing quite like a stroll through the city, a cone of gelato in hand, and a big, pink tutu, enjoying the warm evening air. Bliss.
Until Next Week!
Until next week, I'm off to explore more of the charming nooks and crannies that Rome offers. Perhaps a visit to the Trevi Fountain to toss in a coin (just as they say, for good luck!). And don't forget, next Wednesday, join me right here on Pink-Tutu.com for my next Rome blog! I'll be sharing my discoveries, and hopefully inspiring you to unleash your own inner-tutu-loving adventurer!
Stay glamorous,
Emma xx
P.S. Did I mention how much I love shopping? Rome’s a haven for gorgeous clothes! Just this afternoon, I bought the most exquisite floral pink blouse, with the prettiest bow. You’ll just have to wait until next week’s blog post for photos, as my favourite stylist (that's me!), is busy prepping a shoot! But it's just gorgeous! And it goes perfectly with the pink tutu I bought to go with it. Let's make sure that every outfit, in every town, has at least one element of pink! And never forget the magical power of a twirl in a tutu! #PinkTutuEverywhere #RomeAdventure #TutuDreams #PinkLove #BalletLife #TravelBlogger #FashionAndTutus
