Pink Tutu Rome: #1518 - La Dolce Vita, La Dolce Tutu! 🩰🇮🇹
Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means? Another fabulous Pink Tutu post, this time live from the Eternal City! I'm in Rome, Italy, a place I've dreamt of visiting since I was a little girl, mesmerized by images of the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and all those stunning Roman ruins. And you know me, I had to make sure my pink tutu journey brought me here, didn't I?
This week has been a whirlwind of pasta, gelato, and, of course, tutus! After a thrilling train journey (I adore the glamour of rail travel!), I arrived in Rome feeling like a princess stepping out of a fairytale. It's just so picturesque! I can already feel the inspiration bubbling over for my next performance outfit – I might have to incorporate some Roman-inspired details. Think shimmering silk, dramatic draping, and maybe a little touch of gold?
Speaking of performances, last night I finally got to see La Traviata at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma! I know, I know, what a cliche! But you just have to experience it here. The passion in the air was palpable, the music was sublime, and the entire theatre was just… breathtaking! Seeing such artistry performed with so much feeling gave me goosebumps all over.
Finding my inner fashionista in Roman streets
I'm not exaggerating when I say, the fashion here in Rome is truly something else. You can't help but feel inspired! It's like every shop window and every passerby is a living runway. Yesterday I treated myself to a brand new pair of fabulous pink heels, so comfy! They're perfect for strolling around the city, feeling like the stylish ballerina I am! Oh, and don't even get me started on the hats! The Italian hat game is strong, and I definitely fell for a few. A cute pink sun hat is now a staple in my suitcase! 👒
Tutu time at the Trevi Fountain
The Trevi Fountain! It’s absolutely glorious, just like the photos you see. But honestly, it feels like it belongs in a dream. We're talking gigantic sculptures, detailed artistry, and a waterfall that's mesmerizing. I absolutely had to twirl under its cascading waters. Did you know the Trevi Fountain has been featured in films like Roman Holiday and Three Coins in the Fountain? Well, my little Roman Holiday involved me twirling and throwing a coin into the fountain with the utmost conviction. Now all I need is to make a wish – maybe for another glorious pink tutu dress to be sent to me via magical postal pigeon? 🐦
A Day at the Vatican City
Yesterday, we took a day trip to the Vatican City. Wow. Just wow! Standing in St Peter's Square was a moment that just took my breath away. The Vatican Museum itself is a journey through history and art. It’s actually hard to even describe! We walked amongst the ancient statues and admired some of the most incredible paintings you can imagine, including Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel! I mean, have you ever seen anything more inspiring than that iconic fresco? It’s something that must be experienced firsthand!
Ballet lessons with Roman Charm
Finding a ballet studio was a priority, of course. Rome isn't just a city of historical wonders, but it has a thriving ballet scene, too! I managed to squeeze in a couple of classes this week at Scuola di Ballo di Roma, and the energy here was incredible! The teachers are amazing, the classes are dynamic and … tutudorable. It felt so right to dance amongst other passionate souls, sharing this beautiful art form in such a special city. 🩰
Food, glorious food!
And speaking of energy, Rome is full of vibrant and delicious food! Everything, from the street food to the fine dining, has a taste of Italy that makes my heart sing. My week has been full of pizzas with extra mozzarella, fresh pasta dishes like the incredible cacio e pepe, and, of course, lots of delicious gelato. Oh, did I mention the tiramisu? Just delicious!
What's next for Pink Tutu Rome?
My time in Rome is drawing to a close, and I’m a little heartbroken! But you know what? This trip has been magical! From exploring ancient ruins to twirling in pink tutus, it has been an absolute whirlwind of adventures and fashion inspirations.
I'm heading back to Derbyshire, England, soon, with my head full of ideas for my next performance outfit, and my heart brimming with love for this amazing city. I can't wait to share more stories and photos of my travels with you next Wednesday. In the meantime, don’t forget to subscribe to my newsletter for exclusive content and updates! Stay glamorous, darlings!
Until next Wednesday, my dears!
