#PinkTutuRome: Bonjour, Roma! (Post #1634)

Ciao bella! It's Emma here, your resident Pink Tutu enthusiast, back from the dazzling streets of Rome with a whirlwind of pink-tinted memories. Buckle up, my darlings, because this week's post is packed full of Italian sunshine, cobblestone adventures, and the most stunning ballet performances you've ever seen!

This past Wednesday, September 30th, 2026, marked the perfect start to my Roman escapade. I hopped aboard a swish, silver train straight from Derbyshire – oh, how I love the thrill of train travel – and within a mere six hours, I found myself whisked into the heart of this incredible city.

Now, anyone who knows me, knows that I always arrive in a city with a flamboyant splash! For Rome, it was a dazzling blush pink tutu, its tulle flowing like a cascade of sugared dreams. This tutu, let me tell you, was a showstopper – sparkly with little golden stars, it matched the golden hues of the Italian sunset pouring through the train window as I rolled into the Termini Station.

I couldn't wait to start exploring, so after checking into my adorable, little pink-hued boutique hotel (yes, it had a pink marble bath!), I skipped through the streets with my camera in hand, ready to soak up all the Roman magic.

First stop? Piazza Navona! This glorious square was brimming with street performers – juggling, singing, and drawing crowds with their captivating talents. It reminded me of Covent Garden back home, with the thrill of live entertainment always on display. I even found a street artist who had painted a portrait of a beautiful ballerina in a pink tutu, her graceful leaps frozen in a stunning, pink-hued masterpiece. You can imagine how much I had to buy that one – it's now the star attraction on my apartment wall!

Next, it was on to the Pantheon - that awe-inspiring marvel of ancient Roman architecture. Stepping through its towering entrance, bathed in warm sunlight that spilled through the central oculus, I felt like I was transported back in time. It’s hard to express the power of such an incredible space. My heart filled with the sense of history, like the whispers of emperors and artists were still echoing in the air. It's truly a place that demands you pause, appreciate, and let your imagination wander.

Later that evening, I graced the elegant theatre Teatro dell’Opera di Roma with my presence! You know I love a good ballet, and tonight was no exception. A breathtaking performance of Swan Lake, with the delicate grace of the dancers and the evocative storytelling of the choreography. The costumes were a visual feast, the choreography masterful, and the final bow sent a wave of applause through the audience. The sheer talent and emotion on display was so inspiring - a testament to the artistry of dance.

Following the performance, I felt compelled to visit Rome's Balletto di Roma. What a glorious space filled with such enthusiasm, passion, and artistry. Their studio is an inspiring haven for budding ballerinas like myself. I had to pick up some gorgeous, delicate tutus, just for the memory of the evening – and because a pink tutu-lover like me cannot resist the allure of more tutu-tastic outfits!

It’s not all ballet and tutus though! I found myself spending time shopping on the famed Via Condotti – it’s one of those beautiful streets that makes me think of "Roman Holiday," even if the iconic Vespa ride will have to wait! I got lost in the fashion, in the elegance of high-end boutiques. And you guessed it - I spotted more pink! A breathtaking cashmere pink sweater with tiny silver butterflies embroidered on the sleeve caught my eye in a little shop, so needless to say, it’s already gracing my closet back in Derbyshire!

This city, my lovelies, is a dream come true! Its ancient ruins, stunning architecture, lively atmosphere, and oh-so-delicious cuisine make it an experience for the senses. Every corner you turn, you encounter a story waiting to unfold. And of course, as always, I am spreading the gospel of pink! Each day in Rome, I wear a different shade of pink – it's my signature statement, and it just melts people’s hearts. They all smile at the sight of a twirling ballerina, a little bit of British magic amidst the Italian sunshine!

My Roman journey continues. There's so much to explore – the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, the Vatican City, a plethora of museums and galleries waiting to unveil their treasures… And with every sight, every encounter, and every pink outfit, I'll be sharing it all here on www.pink-tutu.com, every Wednesday, at 7 pm precisely (because you all deserve a bit of pink in your lives)!

Ciao for now!

Yours in Pink Tutu Glory, Emma xx
