A-la-Rome, darling!
Greetings from the Eternal City, my fellow Tutu enthusiasts! I’m Emma, your favourite pink-loving, tutu-twirling blogger, back with another whirlwind travel adventure, this time straight from the heart of Italy – Rome!
Rome has always been on my dream list, a place where history, culture and of course, fashion, all collide in a beautiful ballet of experiences. As soon as I booked my ticket on the Eurostar (you can’t beat the romance of train travel!), I knew I had to pack my most vibrant pink tutu for this grand escapade. I mean, imagine twirling past the Colosseum in a tulle cloud – pure magic!
Pink-tastic Preparations:
Before jetting off, I indulged in some serious retail therapy – a new blush pink fedora, a pair of cherry-red espadrilles (perfect for those cobbled Roman streets) and a shimmering blush-toned eyeshadow palette to enhance my natural radiance. This is a city where the past and present merge beautifully, and I wanted my outfits to reflect that.
First Impressions:
Rome was exactly as I imagined – bustling with life, a sensory overload of colours, aromas and a rhythm all its own. Arriving at Termini station, the energy of the city was palpable. I almost couldn't resist a quick impromptu ballet pirouette on the platform, but thought better of it… at least for now.
From Trevi Fountain to Teatro dell’Opera:
My first stop was the Trevi Fountain – a truly magnificent sight! The light bouncing off the water and sculptures was spectacular. I spent a good 10 minutes twirling by the fountain (it's good to get some practice in!), wishing I could chuck in a couple of golden coins and return for more! Of course, I had to capture the moment with a selfie, pink tutu in full view.
No trip to Rome is complete without visiting the Teatro dell’Opera. Imagine, an evening dedicated to classical ballet! It was my first taste of Italian artistry, and it was a real treat. The acoustics, the opulent décor – a feast for the senses. My heart soared as I witnessed the beautiful dancers twirling under the golden chandelier. I've already started practicing my Italian, just so I can truly understand the beauty of the language when I revisit the theatre!
Shopping in Style:
Every day is an adventure here. One day I might be wandering the vibrant stalls of the Campo de’ Fiori, the next exploring the sleek boutiques of Via Condotti, hunting down those unique Italian accessories – I just can't help myself. A trip to Rome would not be complete without buying something utterly divine for my ballet wardrobe!
Foodie Delight:
Let's talk food! Now, I’m not the most adventurous eater – a picky princess, if you will! – but even I couldn’t resist sampling Rome’s incredible culinary delights. From delicious pasta dishes to melt-in-your-mouth gelato, it’s been a foodie's dream come true. I had to find the perfect spot to indulge in my favourite gelato. That pistachio ice-cream – divine!
Tutu Tips for the City of Romance:
- Wear comfy shoes: Rome’s a city of walking, so prepare for plenty of exploring. I recommend chic ballerina flats, they are stylish, and most importantly comfortable.
- Pack light, but strategically: It's all about layers for that perfect Parisian chic. I find scarves and hats can really tie an outfit together, even with a tutu.
Don’t forget to twirl!: You’re in Italy – a nation of art and beauty. Feel the rhythm, Let loose! Embrace your inner ballerina and embrace every beautiful moment with joy!
A Pink Tutu Paradise:
And of course, no Rome adventure would be complete without sharing the Pink Tutu love. So far, I’ve seen more than a few inquisitive looks at my tutus – people seem to love seeing a ballerina twirling past their coffee stands! It’s amazing how quickly my pink tutu breaks the ice. In fact, yesterday, I was even invited to join a street dance performance. Imagine, a group of Roman locals with a pink-tutu-wearing British girl. Now that’s a truly international experience!
