Hello gorgeous gals and dapper dudes! It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for a fresh post on www.pink-tutu.com, straight from the heart of Rome! This week I’ve traded in my trusty Derbyshire hills for the stunning city of seven hills. The Colosseum! The Trevi Fountain! The Vatican City! ?️ Oh, the glamour, the history, the delicious pasta and… did I mention the pink tutus?! ?
You’ll have to forgive the shameless self-promotion. It’s part of the brand, you know. I mean, pink tutus just bring that touch of magic to everything, especially when you’re surrounded by some of the world’s most beautiful historical sites. Just picture it: a dazzling, cerise tutu, spinning under the Roman sky, a flash of colour amidst ancient stone and terracotta roofs… It's a picture postcard for the ages!
Now, as a fellow fashion enthusiast, you might be asking… What’s the wardrobe situation in Rome? Well, let's just say it's like stepping into a couture magazine! It's an absolute haven for anyone who loves to dress up. Imagine chic little boutiques brimming with Italian leather goods, hand-painted scarves and the most delicate silk blouses you’ve ever laid eyes on! ? But, remember, we're all about that "Pink Tutu" twist here. So naturally, my first purchase was a divine fuchsia dress, perfect for pairing with a delicate tulle overskirt! It was just begging for a twirl in front of the Trevi Fountain, let me tell you! ⛲
This week’s travels were fuelled by the beautiful energy of a delightful performance in Turin. My first performance in Italy, which is an exciting new venture! It’s also so exciting to experience all this while travelling by train! The beautiful rolling countryside and historic villages whizzing by, the smell of freshly baked bread at the stations… there’s something magical about taking it all in, at a leisurely pace. And with the help of the Italian train staff, I even managed to navigate my way around, in all my tutu-laden glory! ?
What’s happening in Rome on October 28th 2026? This is no ordinary day in this vibrant city. It's the feast of Saint Simon and Saint Jude! Just imagine the colourful festivities and processions, and maybe a chance to grab some sweet treats. Who knows what surprises await?!
But Rome isn’t all about the glitz and glamour. The city itself is a canvas, a living breathing art exhibit, whispering tales of ancient emperors and glorious art. Just standing amidst the Forum Romanum, imagining gladiators battling it out in the arena, or exploring the grandeur of St Peter’s Basilica, brings history to life. It’s truly awe-inspiring, especially when you consider that every step you take on this ancient pavement echoes the stories of countless generations. ✨
Oh, and the food! Have I mentioned the food? From creamy carbonara and mouthwatering pizzas to the freshest gelato you’ve ever tasted… Let's just say it's a feast for all the senses! ??
I’m starting to think my love affair with Rome is only just beginning! It’s already stolen my heart, and I can’t wait to share more of my adventures with you in future posts.
Until next Wednesday, stay sparkly and keep that pink tutu dreaming!
With love and pirouettes,
Emma xxx
