Ciao bella! It's Emma from Pink Tutu HQ, bringing you a dazzling dose of Italian magic from the Eternal City itself! Today's post marks the start of my Roman adventure, and let me tell you, my heart is already dancing like a flamenco dancer on a hot summer's day.
As always, my journey began with a trusty train ride. There's something incredibly romantic about the chugging rhythm of a train journey, and let's be honest, it gives me the perfect chance to wear my new blush pink cashmere scarf and those dazzling, sequined ballet flats I'd picked up on a trip to Derbyshire just before I left.
Arriving in Rome, I felt like I'd stepped straight onto a stage. The vibrant colours, the terracotta rooftops, the impossibly picturesque cobbled streets…it was enough to inspire a whole new ballet routine. Oh, and the food? Divine! I could already smell the aromatic pizzas baking in wood-fired ovens and the freshly made gelato that smelled as sweet as a ballerina's dreams.
This trip is extra special because I've been invited to a fashion show – quelle surprise! Not just any show though, it's a special performance at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma showcasing the new “Bellezza Rosa” collection. Now, I know what you're thinking…Pink? But, let's be honest, the Italians have an extraordinary flair for everything. And what better way to explore the colours of their passion than with a collection that literally embraces every shade of pink? It's enough to get this tutu-loving girl's heart thumping!
Speaking of my tutu…it's hard to pick which one to wear to this event, especially as it will be on 25th November 2026. The good news is, there are so many beautiful shades of pink, from dusty rose to bubblegum pink. What would you pick, dear readers?
I know you're dying for an inside peek at this fashion extravaganza. But wait for it…because I've saved the best bits for next week's post. We'll be taking a behind-the-scenes look at the collection and experiencing a real-life, red-carpet moment. Can you picture it? Emma in her perfect pink tutu at one of the world's most famous opera houses? Talk about living your best life!
However, before you scroll away, here’s a sneak peek of what my first day looked like…
Morning: Trasporto pubblico and sightseeing I am all for taking the metro and the tram; the way I see it it gives me the best way to enjoy the people, the views and the hustle and bustle of everyday life in this city. Then it's on to exploring the heart of the ancient city: the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, Colosseum and all that goes with them, all whilst keeping my tutu looking fab, of course!
Afternoon: Delicious food at the oldest Pizzeria As soon as I arrived in Rome I knew this was an absolute MUST, a little slice of history in a family owned pizzeria, I cannot wait. Oh, the excitement! And I shall, of course, be writing a separate blog about my amazing pizza experience next week, I would be wrong not to!
Evening: Sunset over Rome. Finding the perfect view of this incredible city has been an aim for ages and finding somewhere spectacular and beautiful to see the sunset in my new pink tutu should be on every ballerina’s wish list! This is a picture perfect, Instagram ready moment!
So, if you want a double dose of Roman magic with a healthy helping of fashion and a side of tutus (because why not?) be sure to tune in next Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com for the ultimate backstage scoop on my Pink Tutu Rome journey!
Until next time, darlings. Stay twirling!
Emma xx
