Hello my gorgeous Pink Tutu lovers! It's Emma here, your resident tutu-tastic traveller, back from another whirlwind adventure, this time exploring the Eternal City - Rome!
As you all know, my motto is to "make every day a ballet", and let me tell you, Rome just dances to the rhythm of my tutu-clad heart! From the moment I stepped off the train, it felt like I was in a real-life movie. My sparkly pink tutu (oh yes, you can’t guess – it was the one with the glitter that reflects every single shade of the sunset!) was absolutely the perfect touch. The air hummed with a contagious energy that got me right in the mood for a ballet extravaganza!
This week in Rome has been a delicious melting pot of history, culture, shopping, and of course, ballet!
My Roman Adventures:
My trip started with a delicious whirlwind of pizza, pasta and gelato! It was like every corner was an open-air theatre, serving up an authentic Italian feast for my taste buds.
Speaking of theatre, on Sunday I found myself absolutely spellbound by the magnificent Teatro dell’Opera di Roma! It's such a grand, beautiful theatre and I just had to see "The Nutcracker" with their amazing ballerinas.
It's just beautiful to see how the beauty and art of ballet echoes through different cultures, all around the world. My heart just overflowed with excitement.
Shopping Adventures & The Fashionista's Paradise
After the ballet, my darling Roman friend Chiara (a tutu fan, and fashion-forward blogger!) took me on a fashion escapade. Oh my, Rome’s got some of the most stunning fashion boutiques, so I was definitely on the hunt for the perfect accessory to go with my Roman tutus! I'm always searching for the most unique finds. I’m happy to report I stumbled across the perfect velvet handbag in a tiny vintage shop in Trastevere.
And then… then came the glorious, oh-so-delicate Italian tulle! This beautiful fabric, all soft and lacy, would make any ballerina’s tutu dreams come true! Just think, soft pink and grey tulle for an evening ballet, or perhaps a sunny yellow tulle with vibrant floral embroidery for the Roman summer - the possibilities are truly endless!
The Pink Tutu on the Streets of Rome:
Did I mention the people here just love colour? Everywhere I turned, I saw flashes of magenta, raspberry and lilac in clothes, flowers and even gelato! I felt right at home – a bright splash of pink, ready to dance!
I must confess, walking around the ancient sites in a tutu caused a bit of a stir. Imagine this: The Colosseum – one of the most impressive buildings I've ever seen, and me in my sparkly pink tutu! People stopped to smile, take photos, and even some kids did a few pirouettes! It just goes to show, even amidst all the historic beauty, a little bit of pink tutu magic can turn a simple stroll into an unforgettable performance.

Dress up with your inner ballerina: Whether it's a trip to the ballet, or just an everyday stroll, channel your inner ballerina by wearing pink, adding some tutu flair, and definitely a touch of sparkle!
