Pink Tutu Rome - Post 1661 - #PinkTutuRome ???

Hello my darling tutu twirlers! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another #PinkTutuRome post! I'm writing to you from the heart of Rome, and let me tell you, this city is even more magical than I imagined. It’s been a whirlwind week filled with cobblestone streets, delicious gelato, and enough pink to make even the most jaded fashionista blush!

Before we dive into the delights of Rome, a little bit about how I’m funding my travel adventures! It’s a simple, ballet-infused secret – I perform! Yep, you read that right. My ballet shoes pay for the flights, the gelato, the pink outfits, and all the fabulous travel moments in between. This week, I graced the stage with my trusty pink tutu and twirled my way through a series of performances. Seeing the smiles on people's faces as they watched me dance is always worth all the hard work, sweat, and yes, occasionally a dropped tiara. ?

I love taking the train; there’s something magical about chugging through countryside landscapes, spotting a quaint little village in the distance. So naturally, this week I opted for a delightful journey by train from my Derbyshire home. (Excuse my Derbyshire twang – it’s not easily eradicated after all those years dancing in our local village hall!). As I settled into my comfy carriage, it was time to plan the perfect Roman ensemble. Now, every girl knows a great outfit is all about starting with a statement piece, and what could be more powerful and effortlessly chic than my new, oh-so-gorgeous pink tulle maxi skirt?

Let’s Talk Rome:

Once I reached the bustling city of Rome, it was time for the quintessential Roman shopping experience. My dear friend Amelia, who also happens to be a fabulous ballet teacher (a fellow tutu lover, naturally!), and I wandered through the labyrinthine streets, marveling at the ancient buildings. Everywhere you look in Rome is a masterpiece! The majestic Colosseum, the Pantheon with its stunning dome, the Roman Forum - history simply drips off every brick and stone. It’s mind-blowing how ancient people could create such marvels!

Speaking of marvels, we had to check out the local fashion scene. I must admit, my heart skipped a beat at “Via Condotti”. It’s home to a symphony of fashion houses like Gucci, Prada, and Valentino - just a taste of high-end fashion heaven! After hours of window-shopping and admiring those fabulous displays, Amelia and I realised we were famished. A quick detour for some traditional Italian pasta was much needed - I tried ‘Cacio e Pepe’ for the first time and my goodness, it was a flavour explosion!

After our pasta fix, we made our way to the majestic Teatro dell'Opera di Roma for the most magnificent opera performance. My senses were ignited by the powerful voices and the incredible choreography, a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Italy. This whole ballet, opera, fashion, food combination is seriously adding a layer of “living my best life” onto this Roman adventure!

Pink Tutu Inspiration Corner:

Now, onto what you really came here for - the fashion and tutu inspo!

Look 1 - The Chic Traveller:
- Pink tulle maxi skirt (obviously) paired with a crisp white t-shirt for an effortless elegance. - A chic fedora (think Audrey Hepburn) and a classic black shoulder bag. - Don't forget those comfy shoes for exploring those cobbled streets. My recommendation? Pink trainers! It’s all about the co-ordinated tutu travel look!

Look 2 - The Opera Diva: - Embrace the Italian flair! A flowy silk scarf paired with my favorite black tutu. - Black ballet flats or delicate pink heels will give you that extra touch of sophisticated sparkle. - My signature touch: a beautiful crystal hair pin, for a glamorous ballet-inspired flair.

The Power of Pink

Now, you all know that the Pink Tutu Movement is about spreading love, joy, and the magic of pink around the world. I believe a pink tutu can be your personal statement of confidence, playfulness, and of course, sartorial genius! I truly believe we can create a pink wave around the globe - let’s #GoPink!

So what’s coming up in the world of pink-tutu Rome? Tomorrow, I’ll be attending a fascinating lecture about Roman architecture at the Vatican, then it's onto the magical fountains of Trevi! Of course, I'll be sharing all the photos and highlights with you.

Until next Wednesday, keep those tutus twirling and spread the pink joy!

Love,

Emma ? www.pink-tutu.com
