Hello my gorgeous girlies! It's Emma here, and as usual, I'm ready to twirl you through another dazzling week in my beloved #PinkTutu life! This Wednesday, I'm taking you on a magical trip with me to the Eternal City, Rome!
Rome, darling, it truly is the most romantic place I've ever been! Even as I write this, I can almost feel the warmth of the Italian sunshine on my face, and hear the beautiful strains of an opera echoing through the streets! And, just imagine – all this while wearing my glorious, bubblegum-pink tutu! What's not to love? ?
Now, I know what you're thinking - tutus in Rome? How can she even do that?! But, let's be honest, babes - anything looks fab in a pink tutu, especially when you're surrounded by all that history and romance! ?
So, settle in, grab your favourite drink, and get ready to virtually travel with me through my latest adventure – the Pink Tutu Tour of Rome!
The Train to Italy ?
This journey started right back in Derbyshire, England. (Yes, I know – boring, right?!) But you've got to trust me on this one, the train ride was absolutely magical. I donned my comfy, oversized knit sweater, teamed it with my trusty tutu, of course, and just relaxed. And when the sun began to set over the rolling English countryside, I took a big bite out of my homemade raspberry cake, feeling very much like I was literally living my best life! ?
This wasn't any old train though, my darling readers. No, no, this was the high-speed Eurostar - sleek, modern and the ultimate way to travel in style. We were zipping through France, looking out at the charming villages and endless vineyards! It was everything and more! ?
Arriving in the Capital of Style! ??
Finally, after what seemed like a blink of an eye, I was in Rome! I arrived at Termini station, and trust me, my dear friends - it was a sight to behold! Everywhere you looked, there was ancient architecture, beautiful art and, let’s face it, some truly stunning Italian fashion! I'd come prepared – I had my trusty shopping bag packed with a good selection of blush pink, pale peach, and champagne hues ready to mix and match with my tutu for the week! (We all know a little outfit prep is essential when visiting somewhere so chic, right? ?)
I checked into my hotel, which had this absolutely stunning courtyard with twinkling fairy lights – so dreamy and romantic. Then, as if the heavens had aligned just for me, I walked straight out onto a bustling piazza - bang right in the heart of Rome! It felt like something straight out of a movie – there were cafes buzzing with locals, and shops showcasing beautiful fabrics and shoes. I immediately knew this was going to be an adventure for the ages! ?
An Opera Under the Roman Stars ✨
This evening was a must-do on my Rome itinerary: Opera under the stars at the Baths of Caracalla! I arrived dressed to impress, with my hair perfectly styled, a dazzling tiara adding a little extra sparkle, and, you guessed it – my bubblegum pink tutu, just bursting with romance!
Let's be honest, the atmosphere was absolutely electrifying! The whole evening was like something out of a fairytale, you wouldn't believe the magic swirling in the air! We watched the singers strutting and twirling around the stage, bathed in the beautiful light, with the stunning Roman ruins providing the perfect backdrop. You truly had to be there to witness this experience, darling. It was simply unforgettable!
Coffee, Cupcakes, and Capriccios! ☕?
Let's talk food – a real must when exploring Rome, right?! My goodness, the coffee, the pasta, the gelato! It was an absolute food-lovers paradise! I discovered this darling café nestled within a tiny side street, with cobblestones leading you down to its doors - perfect for that #PinkTutuGram. I grabbed a cappuccino (always a firm favourite) and the most delicious, dainty cupcake! They had real fresh cream on top - I died and went to cupcake heaven, babes! I think you all know, nothing is better than combining food with fashion! I'm really a girl after my own heart! ?
But let me tell you about this incredibly juicy capricciosa pizza! You know the one - the pizza topped with prosciutto, artichoke hearts, and so much mozzarella. It was truly amazing. So, to all of my carb-lovers out there: If you visit Rome, you absolutely MUST have one. ?
Discovering Roman History & Stunning Views
Of course, being a true tourist means seeing some of those ancient landmarks! So, the next day, I was obsessed with walking through the historical streets, the cobblestone walkways, and just taking in the architecture and all the fabulous shops along the way.
One of the most magical spots in Rome? It has to be The Trevi Fountain! I had the perfect outfit planned, of course - a silk dress with lace detailing, topped with my signature tutu, which twirled in the wind as I took it all in! The fountain is monumental (and just gorgeous!), and it's also an essential #PinkTutuPhotoOp. Be sure to make a wish and throw a coin into the fountain! ?
Another place I'd suggest, my darling readers? Definitely a trip up to St Peter’s Basilica. It was so impressive, even from afar! I stood gazing in awe and marvel, taking photos (you know, for my insta!) and just taking in the beauty of it all. The Basilica’s beauty is simply something else – truly awe-inspiring! ?
And what's Rome without a sunset? The view of Rome from the Gianicolo Hill was truly out of this world! This stunning view has to be on every girl's Rome itinerary - and a pink tutu definitely adds that extra bit of sparkle!
Exploring the Culture with Passion ?
Being in Rome meant I just had to get serious with exploring the local culture. So I found myself, you guessed it, right in the centre of it! My gorgeous tulle skirt was swirling as I sat on the ground taking it all in. My tutu had become so popular, even a local couple asked if they could take a photo of me wearing it, standing by their iconic gelato cart! (Of course, I obliged! ?)
I went to a charming ballet performance at a small theater, where they were playing some truly incredible music from local artists. A real ‘must’ for anyone who’s ever dreamt of twirling under the Italian lights!
Bringing the Tutu Tour to a Close!
It is time to bring this whirlwind adventure to an end, darling! Sadly, it was already time to pack my bags. (So much for the glamorous end to my trip! ?) I popped back into that cute little café with the dreamy cobbled street entrance for a final cappuccino. I did find ahem a way to squeeze in one last outfit change – my trusty black maxi dress with a shimmering pink tutu layered over the top. (Gotta squeeze in a little more fashion, duh! )
Before jumping on the Eurostar, I knew there was just one last must-do on my Roman adventures. That's right – another round of shopping, naturally! From the cobblestone streets to the vibrant nightlife, I fell deeply in love with this fabulous city. It truly is so much more than just beautiful buildings. The magic in Rome is everywhere – the music, the delicious food, and, of course, the wonderful people. And you can be sure that a #PinkTutuRome is absolutely a memory that will forever remain so special!
