Hello my darling Tutu Tribe!
This week finds me in Rome! I know, I know – I finally made it to the Eternal City! As I sit here in my little pink-tinted apartment, just a hop, skip, and a twirl from the Colosseum, I'm still reeling from the excitement of the last few days. Rome truly lived up to its billing, brimming with history, culture, and of course, plenty of delicious gelato (you can't travel to Italy without gelato, it's a law!).
For those of you who don't know me – I'm Emma, and this little blog (pink-tutu.com if you want to visit my virtual tutu haven!) is all about embracing your inner twirling, girly-girl self, loving pink, wearing tutus (duh!), and inspiring you to unleash your inner ballerina. Now, how did I end up in Rome you ask? Well, darling, a combination of passion, a generous dose of planning, and lots of exciting ballet performances that I've been fortunate enough to land recently.
My trusty little train ticket got me from Derbyshire straight to the heart of this amazing city. I have to tell you – I LOVE travelling by train! You can just sit back, enjoy the view, and even find inspiration for new ballet routines – the rhythm of the train wheels clicking on the tracks, the soft swooshing as the train gently rolls into each station – it all sets my creative juices flowing! Speaking of routines, the Roman Forum was truly inspiring – you can't help but feel the echoes of history in its grand, majestic architecture. The Coliseum itself felt so powerfully ancient I found myself taking ballet classes right there, channeling the gladiators and emperors of ages past with my twirls. It was almost magical!
Let's chat shopping! Now, Italy and fashion are like peanut butter and jelly, right? ? My mission was simple: to find the perfect tutu for my Rome adventures! Now, my pink tutus have traveled all around the world (Iceland, Norway, Paris!), so naturally I couldn't leave this majestic city behind without a special memory in pink tulle. I landed on a shop just around the corner from the Trevi Fountain – all handmade tulle, silk and delicate embroidery. I left the shop, not with one, but TWO magnificent tutus: a dreamy blush pink one with sparkling crystal details – a truly Roman Goddess feel and a bright, sassy pink tutu with flamenco inspired ruffles that practically danced off the rack.
On Thursday evening, the air crackled with excitement, as the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma came alive with the power and grace of a magnificent performance of Swan Lake. The beauty of the dancing, the grand set, and the gorgeous costumes transported me to a fairytale world. I can't wait to share with you my top tips on ballet etiquette, especially how to truly immerse yourself in the magic of a live performance, coming soon to Pink Tutu Rome!
Now, as my day ends in the heart of this magnificent city, the Roman sunset paints the sky with a magnificent pink glow. And guess what? It actually reminded me of my favourite colour… and what else? It reminds me that there's always a new adventure waiting for us to discover!

Next week, I’ll share my favourite cafes and trattorias in Rome – you'll want to add these to your own Rome itinerary!
Love,
Emma ?
