Ciao Bella!
Can you believe it's already December? Where does the time go? Well, this Pink Tutu princess is definitely not letting it slip away! I'm in Rome, Italy! Yes, you heard me right! The Eternal City itself. The place of history, cobblestones, gelato, and of course, fabulous fashion!
It’s Wednesday, which means it's time for my weekly blog post, and let me tell you, I'm buzzing. I'm coming to you live (or should I say, viva) from a stunning little café nestled in the heart of Trastevere. It's right next to a cute little piazza with an impressive fountain - honestly, the picturesque backdrop would make any photogenic pink tutu wearers' heart skip a beat!
Getting here was half the fun! As always, I love travelling by train. The Eurostar from London to Paris and then a high-speed train onto Rome? Pure magic! I had my travel-friendly tutu (of course!) with me and a beautiful vintage pink travel bag overflowing with my trusty pointe shoes, ballet leotard, and even a new pair of sparkling ballet flats for all the Roman exploring.
Rome truly feels magical. Everywhere you look, history whispers. Ancient ruins sit nestled next to charming little trattorias and the energy of this city is unlike anything I've ever experienced. It's alive, it's passionate, and it's positively overflowing with beauty.
A Whirlwind of Fashion and Culture:
I've spent the last few days immersing myself in everything Rome has to offer! I’ve been shopping - my little ballerina heart is going wild with the sheer amount of beautiful fabrics, designs, and oh-my-goodness, the shoes! (Did I mention that I got the cutest little pair of pink espadrilles with tiny sequins?) It’s almost time for the evening’s opera, a production of La Traviata, at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
Today was also a ballet class with a wonderful instructor from the Ballet School of Rome, an absolutely lovely young woman called Laura. She made me feel at home right away and we practiced my favourite "pink flamingo" step – my own invention that's become quite popular at my workshops in Derbyshire. I'm hoping it'll be a huge hit with her students as well!
On My Roman Radar:
Of course, there’s always something new to discover. Next up, I’ll be taking a trip to the Vatican and maybe even trying to squeeze in some Roman cuisine – the tiramisu, I’m told, is simply to die for. Then, of course, I can't leave without seeing the Colosseum and, naturally, having my photo taken in front of it.
As you know, I absolutely love taking my readers on my adventures. Every post, every place is a whirlwind of memories for me, and I love sharing it all with you. And if this pink tutu princess can help inspire just one person to grab their own tutu and get out there exploring the world, well then, it's been a truly successful day!
Stay tuned for my next post, I’ll be writing about a most fantastic show at the Teatro Argentina… and maybe some delicious stories about Italian food – think: pasta, pizza, tiramisu.
Stay tuned,
Emma xo

Outfit Update:
I’m wearing my signature pink tutu (this one is the most beautiful sparkly number) with a soft white lace camisole underneath, and a delicate rose gold chain with a pink gemstone pendant. My favourite pair of pink ballet shoes and a cute pink headband with a miniature white feather – the perfect touch for an afternoon in Rome!
