Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome adventure! I'm currently perched in the most adorable cafe overlooking the Pantheon – can you believe it, this architectural masterpiece just sits there, right in the heart of the city! This city is absolutely bursting with history, romance, and gelato – which is basically what my whole week has been about! ???
My Journey So Far:
So, after my train journey from beautiful, but rather chilly Derbyshire (honestly, I miss my big pink fluffy coat!), I arrived in Rome, all twirling and sunshine! I've already explored so much, and every day has been a magical ballet of sights, smells, and scrumptious Italian cuisine. It's pretty hard to top the sheer pizzazz of Rome, really!
Day 1: Ballet & Beautiful Boutique Finds:
You guys know me, I couldn't arrive in Rome without seeing a ballet show! I caught a stunning performance of "Giselle" at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, a theatre so stunningly beautiful I felt like I’d stepped into a dream! The dancers were phenomenal – pure grace and beauty, they reminded me of the elegant swan I sometimes think I am, ha! Afterwards, I danced through the bustling cobblestone streets, searching for that perfect Roman souvenir for my dearest Mummy. After a little detour at a heavenly boutique called “The Pink Flamingo”, I landed on a delicate rose gold bracelet, which just screamed “Roman holiday!” – I just can’t help myself with pretty jewellery, it just goes with every outfit! And yes, my favourite, pink, was definitely present, with the tiniest pink gemstone tucked in beautifully.
Day 2: Fashion and Fun in the Eternal City:
Day two was all about shopping, sightseeing, and gelato! Did I mention gelato? My sweet tooth is truly living its best life in Rome, I have to admit. We all deserve a bit of sweetness every now and then, don't we? I made my way to the fashion-forward streets of Via Condotti, where I snagged a stunning coral silk scarf that just screams "Roma!" with every twirl. I also found a beautiful pink feather boa that I simply had to have - it will add just the right touch of whimsy to my evening outings. And oh my goodness, I think I've discovered a hidden gem for you all – The Tutu Shop is actually in an old cobbled street just behind the Trevi Fountain! Let's just say my shopping bags were very full by day's end... pink blush emoji
Day 3: Pizza Perfection & The Pantheon:
There’s no place quite like Rome, and the day just seemed to start off perfectly – sunshine streaming in, chirping birds – you get the picture, perfect! First, a truly magnificent pasta alla carbonara for breakfast! Then it was off to discover the glorious Pantheon – words simply cannot describe the breathtaking beauty of this ancient monument!
Later, it was time for the quintessential Roman pizza experience! Now, my darling, pizza isn’t just any old food in Rome, it’s a cultural masterpiece. Thin, perfectly blistered crust, fresh toppings, a symphony of flavors that makes every bite a little dance on your tongue.
Day 4: Trevi Fountain and A Touch of Magic:
My trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to the legendary Trevi Fountain, with its cascading water and iconic sculptures! So, of course, I threw in a coin - two actually, just in case I come back for another incredible adventure! As always, the fountain felt magical, with tourists and locals alike admiring its grandeur. It felt like a storybook scene, so naturally, I whipped out my tutu for a little spontaneous ballet moment, the fountain acting as my stage. I may be from Derbyshire, but a little bit of Rome has surely worked its magic on me – my twirling skills are now positively divine!
Day 5: Sights, Shows, and Sorbetto!
Today was dedicated to Roman magic! I spent the morning strolling through the Colosseum, imagining the ancient gladiators battling for glory. What a sight! It was a total wow factor! Afterwards, I found a cute little cafe on the Piazza Navona, where I sipped on some lovely lemon tea, and even indulged in some deliciously fruity sorbetto. To my utter delight, I saw some beautiful ballet students doing an impromptu dance performance right there on the square. They twirled with grace, energy and passion - and their dance shoes were truly incredible! The perfect way to end my Roman adventure.
