Ciao bellas!
It’s Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed, fashion-loving blogger, and I'm writing to you live from Rome! Can you believe it? This magnificent city, a haven of history, art and…oh, let’s not forget the exquisite food, is currently my home away from home. And yes, I’m rocking a pink tutu, of course! It's a blush-pink creation, a little more understated than my usual vibrant choices, perfectly complimenting the pastel hues of Rome’s architecture.
Now, I'm not one to jump on trends, but you'll forgive me for making a slight Christmas exception. Rome, bathed in the golden glow of the Christmas season, felt even more magical than usual. Everywhere I looked, Christmas lights glittered and twinkling, casting their enchanting sparkle over the historic squares and cobbled streets. I spent hours wandering, mesmerized by the festive decorations – twinkling fairy lights wrapped around ancient fountains, majestic Christmas trees adorned with delicate baubles and flickering candles in windows of elegant shops. I think I even heard a carol or two – definitely something to bring a lump to your throat!
Of course, no visit to Rome is complete without a dose of culture. This time, I took my love of dance a little further by visiting the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma – talk about grandeur! It was a stunning, breathtaking theatre, the kind that truly takes you back in time. The intricate carvings and soaring arches felt like stepping into a grand ballroom of a bygone era. Even more excitingly, I was able to catch a spectacular ballet performance – 'The Nutcracker'. Seeing those beautiful dancers effortlessly glide across the stage, their movements fluid and expressive, took my breath away.
The next day, I set out to explore the Colosseum, a magnificent feat of engineering that truly left me awestruck. I had been studying this incredible landmark for weeks, picturing its grand Roman chariot races, its thunderous roar of crowds cheering gladiatorial battles, and trying to imagine life in ancient Rome. To see it in person, this symbol of ancient strength, power, and historical grandeur, was nothing short of humbling. And, as an added bonus, it felt very fairytale-like, just like I imagined the ruins to be, particularly with a hint of golden sunshine hitting the marble, transforming the place into an ethereal masterpiece.
Rome, oh Rome, you stole my heart once again. And speaking of heart-stealing, I’ve discovered a brand-new pink tutu! Oh, the excitement, bellas! Imagine a light, billowing, whimsical tulle skirt that makes you want to twirl. This little wonder is a ballet pink delight, perfect for twirling under the Roman sky, especially around the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. Trust me, I’m taking full advantage!
So much more to come from Rome! Follow me on Instagram for more daily updates! Stay tuned next week for more Pink Tutu adventures, from delectable Italian treats and enchanting piazzas to breathtaking art galleries and, of course, some spectacular new additions to my pink tutu collection. Until then, keep twirling!
xx
