#PinkTutuRome: Ciao Bella! Rome Calling! (Post #1753)

Buongiorno, darlings! ??

It's Emma, your pink tutu-clad travel companion, writing to you from the heart of Rome! Yes, that's right, the Eternal City has called, and I have answered, in a glorious swirl of tulle and dreams. This week's post comes straight from the Italian capital, a city where history and beauty weave themselves into the very fabric of life.

Now, I'm sure some of you are wondering what on earth a ballerina is doing in a place like this. Well, I can assure you that even though the cobblestones may not be the most graceful surfaces for a pirouette, Rome is full of beautiful things to inspire. From the grand architecture to the colourful fashion, this city pulsates with art, and I, your trusty fashionista, am here to absorb every single detail!

Before I go any further, I simply must mention that I arrived in Rome in the most glorious way: by train! There's just something so enchanting about train travel. It's a slower pace, allowing you to truly take in the scenery, watch the world roll by, and lose yourself in the rhythm of the journey. Plus, with my pink tutu fluttering in the carriage, I felt like a vision of Parisian chic, or shall we say, Roman chic. ?

Speaking of fashion, let me tell you, Rome is a sartorial wonderland! The streets are bursting with vibrant colours, elegant silhouettes, and chic Italian flair. It's a visual feast, and I, with my love of pink, was in absolute heaven. Every corner felt like a runway show, every store a treasure trove of fashion finds. Of course, I had to add some Italian flair to my wardrobe. And what could be more fitting than a blush-pink, silk scarf, purchased from a tiny little boutique in the heart of Trastevere? It was like finding a missing piece of my personal wardrobe puzzle, and it practically screams "La Dolce Vita!"

Today, 10th January, is the feast day of the Holy Guardian Angel in Rome. Imagine! Angels watching over the city, adding another layer of magic to this already enchanted place.

My itinerary today includes a visit to the Galleria Borghese. Not only does this gallery boast exquisite Renaissance sculptures, but it's housed within a breathtaking palace that will transport you straight back to a bygone era. And as a huge fan of beauty in all its forms, I couldn't miss out on the chance to immerse myself in its art and beauty.

Later, I'll be attending a ballet performance in the beautiful Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. You know, there’s something wonderfully captivating about experiencing ballet in a different culture. There are subtle variations, of course, in the choreography and perhaps even the style of storytelling, and these subtle nuances enrich the entire experience for me.

After a fantastic meal and a glass of prosecco under the stars (I absolutely love how the Italians savour their food and life!), I'll be dancing under the moonlit Roman sky, exploring its hidden corners and secret pathways. After all, Rome truly comes alive at night!

Of course, I’ll be keeping you all updated on Instagram and my Facebook page. And do remember to follow my adventures at #PinkTutuRome!

Until next week, darlings! Stay pink! ??

Yours in tulle and travel,

Emma ?

P.S. I know many of you are asking about my favourite pink tutu finds! Here's a sneak peek:

  • For the casual Roman strolls: My go-to is a beautiful dusty rose tutu, layered over a simple white shirt and linen trousers. This creates a surprisingly elegant and effortless look for sightseeing.
  • For evening events: It has to be a blush-pink, voluminous tutu paired with a classic black bodice. Add a touch of sparkle with silver heels, and I’m ready to waltz the night away!
  • For the true ballerina moments: It's got to be my cherry-pink tutu. A bit more dramatic, but when paired with a stylish white blouse or a simple black tank, it can really elevate an outfit.

And remember, pink is more than just a colour, it’s an attitude, a statement, a feeling. Don't be afraid to embrace it! Let's bring the magic of pink tutus to the world, one twirl at a time!
