Ciao, Bellas!
Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, where pink tutus reign supreme and adventures unfold like a graceful pirouette. Today's blog is bursting with sunshine, Roman history, and a whole lot of pink tulle – just how I like it!
This week I'm bringing you straight from the heart of Rome! I travelled here by train – the journey was absolutely divine! I'm quite partial to a train journey; you can really immerse yourself in the journey and enjoy the scenery – especially with a view of the Italian countryside, where the hills are painted in hues of terracotta and olive groves. I love watching the world roll past, spotting vineyards and cobblestone villages tucked into the hills. The whole trip feels like a scene straight out of a movie.
But I'm here to talk about Rome. This glorious city has truly captured my heart, and as soon as I arrived, I knew I had to find the most amazing, majestic pink tutu to explore it in. And believe me, after an afternoon of tulle-tasting at some seriously chic boutiques, I found it – a dreamy pink confection of frills and ruffles that practically whispers "Roman Holiday".
Today was a day packed with Bellissima activities, each one a perfect opportunity to twirl my way through Roman history. The Colosseum was absolutely breathtaking. Just imagine, centuries ago, gladiators and wild beasts were battling it out here. I felt like a gladiator in my own right, strutting my stuff amidst the ancient ruins. The Colosseum truly is a must-see. And of course, I did my iconic ballerina pose in front of it for the gram!
I had a very tasty Italian lunch by the Pantheon – I ate so much delicious pasta I had to loosen the straps of my tutu, it felt like an endless buffet of joy, all topped with creamy Italian goodness! Then it was a leisurely walk through the Borghese Gallery, which boasts some beautiful sculptures and artwork, including works by Bernini. I love exploring galleries and museums, not just for the art but because it lets you delve into different cultures and periods of history. I always learn so much on my travels.
Tonight, it's ballot time! I have a wonderful performance lined up at Teatro Argentina. Rome is famous for its opera and ballet, so you can be sure I'm seeing the very best performances this city has to offer. I’ve already bought the tickets, a gorgeous floral dress for the occasion, and some statement earrings – I like to get fully immersed in the atmosphere, and a splash of sparkly colour definitely enhances the experience.
For all my ballet lovers, this is the place to be! You can't visit Rome without soaking up the passionate atmosphere at a ballet or opera. Even if ballet is not your cup of tea, take it from a tutu expert – you will be absolutely enthralled.
