Pink Tutu Rome: A Whirlwind Wednesday (Post #1792)

Ciao, darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the Eternal City - Rome! This is officially the most magical trip yet, filled with so much romance, art, pasta, and of course, pink! You just can’t beat Rome, can you? And as usual, I'm twirling through it all in my favourite pink tutu, spreading a bit of magic wherever I go.

This week's journey started with a very civilised train ride from Naples, you know me, always opting for the romantic, scenic route. And let me tell you, Italy's countryside is simply breathtaking. We zipped past vineyards, olive groves, and even spotted a few sheep grazing lazily. The perfect picture postcard.

Rome itself is simply bursting with history, vibrant life, and… did I mention pasta? Every street corner seems to lead to a tiny trattoria with the most tempting aromas and dishes you've ever smelled. It's hard to resist! And I, dear readers, am a staunch believer in the philosophy of “When in Rome, indulge!”

Speaking of indulging, my darling Rome wouldn’t be complete without a healthy dose of fashion and ballet! Did I mention it's Wednesday and you all know what Wednesday means… it’s Pink Tutu Rome day on the blog! This week's adventure had me spinning through the historic streets in a soft blush pink tutu that perfectly captured the romantic aura of the city. And trust me, the locals love a good twirl! They have this twinkle in their eyes when I start to pirouette, as if they’re watching some hidden spectacle, which of course, makes my day!

Now, about those ballerinas, the Roma Opera Ballet is giving a breathtaking production of Giselle this evening, and my heart is already doing a grand jeté! Imagine, swirling in a billowing white tutu, under the dazzling chandelier of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, surrounded by such beauty! I just know it’ll be a feast for the senses and a must-see for anyone visiting this exquisite city.

I even popped into a vintage store nestled in the cobblestoned backstreets, where I snagged the most fabulous velvet bolero in the deepest shade of pink you can imagine, perfectly matching my new vintage ballet shoes. If you’re a vintage enthusiast like me, this place is a hidden gem, overflowing with vintage wonders just waiting to be discovered!

Speaking of hidden gems, one thing I love about exploring new places is uncovering local hidden gems. I can't possibly reveal all my secrets here, it would ruin the magic! Let’s just say, this week I had the chance to take a private tour through some beautiful Roman Gardens that I’ve been dying to see. Hidden behind towering walls, a hidden oasis of blooming roses, manicured lawns and sculpted statues. It's the perfect escape from the bustle of the city!

You might be thinking, how does she even fund all these adventures?. Well, my darling, it all boils down to good old-fashioned hard work and a dash of pixie dust. I've got several shows lined up at a quaint theatre back in my lovely Derbyshire hometown. Nothing brings me greater joy than sharing the magic of ballet with those who are eager to watch. And, it keeps me going from one pink tutu escapade to the next. And trust me, the pink tutu's always a welcome addition in my performances - the audience always roars with delight!

Remember, every Wednesday is Pink Tutu Rome day, so make sure to come back for the next chapter of my Italian adventure. I've got so much more to tell you, from exploring the Colosseum under the twinkling night sky to enjoying a delicious scoop of gelato (oh, how I love gelato!), and much, much more. So keep twirling and stay stylish, darlings!

Until next week,

Your darling Emma,
