Cambridge Calling: My Pink Tutu Goes on a German Adventure! (Blog Post #39)

Hiya darlings! Emma here, and oh, my stars, where do I even begin with this week's adventures?! It's been such a whirlwind, filled with tutu-spinning fun, gorgeous pink sunsets, and a hint of that heady excitement that comes from discovering a new, magical place.

This week, my little pink tutu and I took a little train trip up to Cambridge - now, there's no place quite like it. It's one of those quintessentially British places that you just know you'll love before you've even set foot in it. And boy, did I love it! We spent the days wandering through the stunning college grounds - can you believe all those old stone buildings?! I felt like I'd stepped into a movie scene! The ivy clambering up the walls, the soft, mossy grass under my ballerina feet, it was just dreamy.

And then there was the River Cam, all dappled sunlight and sleepy little boats drifting along - I even caught a glimpse of a cute little heron standing on a bridge! I'm a bit of a bird watcher at heart (it's the little wildlife moments that make a trip so special).

A German Tutu Adventure

Speaking of special moments, this week had a delightful twist. I spotted the cutest little boutique tucked away in a side street - it was like it'd been waiting just for me! And it was full of absolutely fabulous clothes, including a little, fluttery tutu that caught my eye - a beautiful blush pink with gorgeous sparkly accents. But here's the fun part - it was made in Germany! My pink tutu finally had a fellow traveller from another country, and the two of them just sparkled together.

You see, it's moments like that, that make life truly special. That discovery, that little thrill of seeing something new and different, the magic of unexpected connections, that's what I live for. And don't even get me started on the amazing Cambridge markets - they're a sensory overload in the best way possible! I managed to snag a gorgeous hand-painted box for my tutu treasures, all nestled amidst the colours and smells of fresh-baked bread and cheeses, and hand-woven scarves, and… you're probably picturing it by now - it's like a slice of fairytale charm.

Ballet Under the Stars

And what trip would be complete without a ballet show? Now, this one was something special - a magical performance held in an open-air theatre. As the stars twinkled overhead, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pure joy, a connection to the world, a feeling that was impossible to explain. I even found a little group of local dancers who came to watch, and they were so welcoming, so excited about their ballet community, and… well, let's just say I had a tutu-tastic time chatting about pirouettes and arabesques with them!

Tutu Tips

Of course, no trip is complete without some "Emma's Tutu Tips".

  • Pack a small ballet bag: My "mini ballet box" is my favourite travel companion! It holds my shoes, ribbons, tights, a little ballet journal for capturing all my inspiration, and a couple of adorable pink bobby pins. It's basically the ballerina's secret weapon!
  • Embrace your inner explorer: Don't be afraid to venture off the beaten path, let curiosity be your guide, and explore every corner of the city with that playful twinkle in your eye.
  • Bring a little sparkle: This is a no-brainer, but add a touch of pink magic wherever you go! A ribbon on your hair, a sparkly broach, a tutu-shaped phone case, let that pink energy flow and embrace your playful side.

And there you have it! A few highlights from my amazing trip to Cambridge. Until next time, darlings! Remember, it’s never too late to put on a pink tutu, find your inner dancer, and step into a world full of possibilities!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a rather sparkly, German tutu waiting to be photographed... Stay tuned for some gorgeous, tutu-fied fashion inspiration coming soon on www.pink-tutu.com !

See you all tomorrow!

Yours in pink and pirouettes,

Emma
