Derby Delights: A Tutu-ful Day Out! 🩰

Hello my darling tutu-lovers! It's Emma here, and boy oh boy, have I got a tale to tell you. Today was all about Derby, a little bit of magic, and a whole lotta pink.

A Journey to Remember

Let's rewind a bit. This morning, I decided to ditch the car and take the train to Derby, the charming town that’s just a short hop from my home in Derbyshire. There's something so elegant about gliding along in a carriage, feeling the breeze on my face and enjoying the scenery - I always feel like I'm stepping into a romantic novel! Of course, I wore my prettiest pink ensemble - a floral dress and my signature, blush-pink ballerina flats. A girl has to look the part, right?

A Whimsical Wonderland

Derby itself was a real treat. It's brimming with character - quaint little shops, cobbled streets, and charming parks. I was lucky enough to wander into this little vintage tea shop - just the most delightful place with dainty teacups, perfectly crisp scones, and a whole load of homemade cakes. I couldn't resist a slice of Victoria sponge (it wouldn't be a trip to Derby without one, would it?!) with a dollop of clotted cream, oh my! It was pure, utter bliss.

Tutu Time!

As I wandered further, I stumbled upon a beautiful ballet studio hidden away down a little cobbled side street. Instantly, my heart skipped a beat! I peeked inside - they had a gorgeous barre and a mirrored wall. Oh, the dreamy twirling possibilities! This is where my day really took off!

Now, I don’t want to toot my own trumpet but, as I strutted in (literally strutted! I couldn't help it! ), the entire studio fell silent. Everyone was just... stunned! They had never seen anything like it – a vision of pink tutu-perfection waltzing into their world! That’s me, your very own tutu ambassador. 🩰 I may have even had a twinkle in my eye. 😉 (I do, like to live life on the stage, even when I’m off it).

Tutus: A Story of Inspiration

The lovely instructors, Miss Sarah and Mr. Oliver, couldn't believe their eyes. (Let's just say I made quite the entrance.) I asked them if they would like to be my first subjects in my new campaign to get everyone wearing tutus – “It's Time to Tutu! ” And guess what, they LOVED the idea!

“Absolutely Emma!” they chirped. “Let's show the world that tutus are for everyone.” (They even got into the pink tutu spirit, with a pink feather boa and a pink, flower patterned tutu. They looked fabulous!.) We all took a little “tutu pose" (which they actually said they're going to use as their class photo) and snapped some amazing pics. ( You can see the whole fab story on my Instagram: www.instagram.com/pinktutu ).

They even allowed me to lead the ballet class - what an honour! I'm talking beautiful plies, elegant tendus, and oh, so many graceful arabesques! We ended with a beautiful fouette sequence (and I have to confess, I pulled out a cheeky pirouette - my old friend and a constant delight!) It felt amazing. We were all like tiny ballerinas spinning stories through our moves.

The Derby Magic

What can I say, Derby! I am officially in love. The vibrant town has got a hold of my heart! The charming little coffee shops with their delicious homemade cakes, the historical architecture and the beautiful green spaces - it felt so lovely! My heart is overflowing with the warmth and joy of this fantastic town, all thanks to those kind, fun-loving tutu-loving instructors and all the talented students that I had the pleasure of twirling with today!

Tutu-tastic Take Away

So, as the sun sets, it's time for me to head back home. But let's be real, darling tutus, my mind's already buzzing with new Tutu-tiful adventures. Maybe we'll be riding through the Yorkshire Dales tomorrow, or venturing to the Lake District to soak up some picturesque scenery, or even galloping on horseback through the beautiful Cotswolds. The world is waiting, and I, Emma, am ready to waltz, twirl, and pirouette through it all!

And remember my dear readers, if there’s one message I want to convey, it's this - Never be afraid to embrace the tutu-tastic wonder in your heart. Life is for twirling!
