East Kilbride: Tutu Adventures in the Heart of Scotland! 🩰💖

Hello my lovelies! Emma here, your favourite tutu-clad adventurer, and guess what? Today's post, number 1891 for you all, is bursting with excitement because I'm writing to you from beautiful East Kilbride!

Pink-tutu.com - don't you just love the name?! This website has become my little haven for sharing my love of pink, tutus, ballet, and all things sparkly! It's the place where I can document my adventures in the most fabulous tutu, and you all can come along for the ride.

Now, East Kilbride might not sound as exciting as, say, Paris or New York, but let me tell you, it holds a special place in my heart already. I just love how the whole place has such a lovely, calming energy, and it just makes me want to twirl, twirl, twirl! Honestly, the locals here are the friendliest bunch too – and you can just tell that people love to dance in this part of Scotland!

The journey was incredible too. Remember when I said I was a bit of a romantic at heart? Well, this time, I chose to travel by train, because there's just something magical about watching the world go by from a comfy window seat. There was even a charming little family seated opposite me - a mum with two giggling daughters. They were mesmerized as I pulled out my very special tutu bag from my backpack!

"A ballerina!" the younger daughter squealed with delight. The eldest, who looked about eight years old, started asking all sorts of questions.

"What kind of tutu is that?" she enquired with wide eyes. "Is it your costume?"

“Of course,” I beamed at them with all the confidence I could muster. I was more than happy to play up to them for a moment and chat about my travels and passion for ballet. You see, spreading the ballet love is a part of who I am now! I want to bring that excitement back into our lives and get people to be open to dance in every way - ballet for everyone, yes indeed!

Pink & Polished in East Kilbride

After I reached my hotel room, which was thankfully decorated in lovely shades of blush pink - they know my style, don't they? I felt like it was time to make my East Kilbride debut!

Now, I've gotta tell you, you guys, this town has a charming side street called 'The Village,' with quaint little shops, cafes, and the cutest little ice cream parlour! That ice cream, my darlings, it was practically heaven on a cone! I couldn't resist getting the Strawberry & Vanilla flavour. So dreamy! They even let me borrow a little pink tutu for the occasion for a photo - a fabulous find, don't you think?

And after that sugar rush, there was only one place to be: The East Kilbride Arts Centre!

Let's just say, the ballet class I joined this afternoon was sensational. The teacher, Sarah, was amazing. She has this natural grace and charisma that makes you feel like you're actually moving like a swan. I’ve learnt a few new steps from her already and my dancing has definitely benefitted! I might need to wear this pink tutu for more dancing fun. Maybe I'll even film a ballet street performance with some of the other ladies? What do you think?

And after the class, you know how I love finding hidden gems in a new place, right? This time, my lucky find was a lovely old church - it had beautiful stained glass windows and was bursting with an incredible sense of calm and history. It made me think about how many people had danced their hearts out to grace and beauty over the years.

A Ballet Lover's Sanctuary

One thing I love about my travelling tutu is that it attracts attention! In my experiences, people instantly warm up to the colour pink, and it always creates a beautiful, approachable energy. It’s a great way to connect with people – we just start chatting, and I get to talk about my life as a ballerina, how ballet can benefit you no matter what age you are and how my own life is devoted to sharing it with the world!

East Kilbride was just what I needed: a quiet, enchanting break where I could fully embrace the world of ballet in its many forms. From enjoying a charming street, finding a pink tutu on my ice cream trip, taking a ballet class and relaxing in an ancient church – there is always so much beauty to be found in everyday moments! The people were truly the heart of the city, and they gave me so much love and support, which means a lot to this Derbys girl!

It was time to depart for my next adventure, and guess what? This time, it's by horseback! I am on the hunt for a gorgeous stallion. The owner’s name is Robert, and he’s been so welcoming since I made contact. He is giving me some riding lessons too - so that should be lots of fun. Look out for the next post from yours truly…wherever the pink tutu may lead me next.

Till then, stay fabulous and keep on dancing! 💖

Lots of love, Emma

P.S. Have you spotted my latest ‘Emma’s Diary’ column over on www.pink-tutu.com ? I’ve been documenting my most recent adventures in my diaries for ages now, but I wanted to share a little bit of it with all of you. So head on over and see!
