Rhyl Revelations: Pink Tutu Takes on the Coast 🩰

Good morning darlings! It’s Emma here, writing to you from the most delightful little seaside town in Wales, Rhyl! The sun is shining, the seagulls are squawking (in their own delightful way, of course), and my pink tutu is positively twinkling as I write this.

Remember how I mentioned I wanted to branch out a little with my tutu style? Well, today’s outfit is inspired by my recent trip to a fabulous European ballet company. I snagged a darling little tulle skirt in a vibrant cerise pink (you know I love my shades of pink!) It has all these beautiful layers and delicate hand-stitched detail. The shape reminds me of the swans from Swan Lake, graceful and poised with a bit of an ethereal touch. Paired with a cream cashmere knit top (oh, how I love layering!), a splash of pearl earrings and some glittery ballerina pumps, it was just the outfit for a seaside jaunt.

And, speaking of jaunts, my journey to Rhyl was, of course, made by train. I can't resist the romance of a long train journey with the clickety-clack rhythm and views that unfold like a storybook. This time, it was through the lush rolling hills of Derbyshire and into the welcoming arms of Wales. Oh, the rolling hills! So picturesque and oh-so peaceful.

I actually had the most extraordinary encounter on my train ride. Imagine, sitting at my little table with my book – Tutu To-Dos: 101 Tips for Life on Pointe (it’s truly a must-read!) when I saw the most magnificent hawk outside my window. It swooped so close I could see the details in its fierce, sharp eyes, a magnificent sight. Nature truly inspires my tutu spirit!

Speaking of inspiration, my little seaside escapade wouldn’t be complete without a ballet-themed adventure. This charming town has a gorgeous little theatre called The Rhyl Pavilion. I was completely bowled over by the grand ballroom where they hold the local dance classes. My dream is to open a Tutu Academy someday! One day! It's all about getting more people dancing, sharing the joy and passion, you see? And of course, getting everyone rocking a fabulous pink tutu. 😉

The ballet performance was the icing on the cake! This troupe, 'Rhyl Repertory,' were simply outstanding! I was blown away by their energy, the way they poured their souls onto that stage. The whole experience filled me with such wonder and reminded me why I adore the artistry of ballet so much. From the sweeping gestures to the precise footwork, every move was a masterpiece. The final bow had me mesmerized.

Afterward, I made my way to the seafront. The air was crisp, and the sun dipped beneath the horizon, painting the sky in shades of pink and purple. It felt like a ballet in itself, all grace and movement, with the sound of the waves as its soundtrack.

Rhyl was everything I hoped for, a perfect combination of seaside charm, dance-filled delight and a touch of the whimsical. It really reinforced that ballet doesn't just live in a studio or on stage. It exists in the heart of a ballerina, and that's a feeling you can carry with you everywhere you go, even if it’s wearing a gorgeous cerise pink tutu!

Until next time, keep on dancing and never forget the power of a good twirl.

With much love and sparkle,

Emma x

P.S. I’ve been dying to share with you my newest favourite spot, just down the coast. It's this cute little horse riding stables! It was pure magic; the wind in my hair, the sun on my face, and the feeling of connection with such majestic creatures. They are a true symbol of grace and power, just like a ballerina in full bloom! It's all part of my 'Get everyone to ride a horse!' crusade!

P.P.S Did I mention that I got to watch the sunset on the beach, sipping a pink lemonade? (It even came with a pink straw – oh, how I love the colour!) It was the perfect way to end my day in this truly fabulous place.
