Grays: Red Tutu and Rolling Fields

Good morning, darlings! The sun's shining bright, and my heart's feeling lighter than a ballerina on point. I'm back in England after a whirlwind of a trip across the continent. Who knew I could fit so many adventures into just a few days? Today I'm all about reflecting on those adventures, so settle in with a cuppa and let me take you on a journey… with me, of course! 😉

You all know I love travelling by train, and this trip was no exception. It all started with a hop onto the Eurostar – always an exciting way to start a journey! The journey to Paris is a joy, the views whizzing by, and then the magical arrival into Gare du Nord, full of possibilities! I think I might be secretly in love with Paris! But then again, I think I might secretly be in love with a lot of places – and the way they make me feel!

A Paris Pas de Deux

As you might guess, a trip to Paris meant a visit to the iconic Palais Garnier. Oh, my darlings, this is the stuff of ballet dreams! Imagine stepping inside a fairytale palace of opulence, plush red velvet seating, intricate gilded ceilings – I felt like a princess, right out of a classic ballet story! It truly makes you feel the grandeur of the art form, its history and impact on the world. It’s almost overwhelming, and yet, there is something so captivating about it all, a certain magic. I might even have taken a few twirls around the Grand Staircase – it was simply irresistible. I’m not saying I'm a complete loon – but I do have to admit, I felt strangely at home!

Red Tutus & Countryside Charm

After Paris, I boarded another train - what else, right? This one took me through the picturesque English countryside, straight to the heart of Essex. Now, this is where the red tutu comes in, darlings! Imagine yourself skipping across a field, with the sun on your face, feeling utterly carefree and full of joy… That's me, wearing my vibrant red tutu – a bit of a change from my usual pinks! But then again, every now and then you’ve got to switch it up, shake things up, add a dash of spontaneity! And besides, there’s a kind of boldness to the colour red, it screams 'go get 'em, girl!' and who doesn’t like a little boost of confidence, right?

I wasn't in Essex to do much apart from enjoy the fresh air, the smell of nature, and a nice afternoon picnic. Honestly, sometimes all you need is some quiet time in the heart of nature to refresh your soul. But who says you can't have some fun? I'm all for finding the joy in every moment, and trust me, there's joy in everything, even if you have to find it yourself!

A New Ballet Adventure: Grays

So, my journey was certainly not just about red tutus and picturesque views – there was also some serious ballet!

It wouldn't be a real ballet adventure without checking out a local performance, would it? And you can bet your bottom dollar that I’m always on the hunt for a hidden gem! And that’s where I found myself at a wonderful little studio in the village of Grays in Essex.

Grays has this old-world charm, a bustling community that oozed a sense of warmth and genuine love for the arts.

The studio itself felt almost magical. With light streaming in, hardwood floors, and the sound of laughter echoing in the air – there was just a feeling of being home in a way! Even the smells in the studio are memorable – I'm pretty sure they mix their own special kind of fairy dust to get that feel of utter joy.

You’d be amazed to discover that this charming village held a community dance class for all ages! Honestly, the level of talent in that group blew me away. From youngsters with bright eyes and fearless dreams, to seniors moving with graceful wisdom and years of passion, every single person brought their unique flair to the class. They really are an inspiration. The energy there, it’s contagious! And just like I always say: it's never too late to twirl your way into your own ballet story!

A Glimpse of My Ballet Soul

Oh, and let's not forget that this particular performance brought out a bit of the wild side in me! I had the amazing opportunity to work on my horse-riding skills… in a ballet! You heard me right, darlings – horse-riding ballet. Now, who knew that galloping through a field of daisies with the wind in my hair would make such a satisfying sound? It’s like a secret ballerina whisper. I even wore my red tutu for this! I just couldn’t resist.

You all know how much I love nature, so being in that sprawling field and listening to the horses' soft hooves tapping out their own rhythmic beat was almost magical! It's moments like these that truly remind me of the power and versatility of dance. You’d be amazed by the beautiful fusion of horse-riding and ballet! It's almost as if you’ve discovered a secret language that transcends all boundaries and takes your soul soaring! Oh, my darlings! It was amazing, like something straight out of my own personal fairytale!

I do hope I’ve sparked your desire to go out there and find your own dance story. We are all dancers, every single one of us. I am going to go now, for it’s time to step into my favourite pink tutu, grab my ballet shoes, and get back on track to dance the world away.

Until next time, dear readers! Don’t forget to wear pink. Or even red, if that’s what your heart desires!

Remember to join me again tomorrow for my next blog post - until then, Happy twirling!
