Darling readers,
Itās been a whirlwind few weeks! Since my last post, I've been busy pirouette-ing through Derbyshire, gallivanting in the Lake District and soaking up the sun (and the tutus) in Paris. It feels like Iāve barely caught my breath, but today, I'm taking you with me on a little trip to Fareham.
This little seaside town is charmingly quaint and, just like the little pink flamingoes that I saw there, surprisingly flamboyant! Fareham is known for its history, beautiful parkland and for hosting some absolutely fantastic ballet performances - which is why I had to go!
I'm so grateful for the opportunity to spread my tutu love, not just with my regular readers, but also with those who have never been to a ballet performance before. Letās face it, ballet can sometimes be intimidating for newcomers, but everyone loves a tutu, donāt they? That's why I always try to create an atmosphere thatās inviting and welcoming to everyone. No experience? No worries! We're all about sharing the joy of dance and celebrating everything pink.
After arriving in style (you guessed it, by train! ā how else for a ballet aficionado?!), I found a little vintage tea room called "The Sugarplum Fairy" that served the most divine Earl Grey with little meringue swirls shaped like swans.
Before heading to the theatre, I couldn't resist a visit to Farehamās famous parkland. It was such a blissful experience. Lush green meadows, chirping birds, fluffy sheep nibbling on the grass... and of course, I couldnāt resist an impromptu photo shoot with a fluffy grey sheep I named 'Fluffy' - she was a very good sport and actually posed for my Instagram story!
The theatre, tucked away in a charming Victorian square, felt like a haven for the ballet lovers of Fareham. It was filled with excited whispers and anticipation. There was a buzz in the air as everyone took their seats, settling in to experience a performance of "Swan Lake." The costumes were glorious, and the choreographyā¦ well, it took my breath away. I swear I felt like I was transported back in time, watching those elegant swans gracefully move on the stage. I have to say, the whole experience just ignited my passion for the beautiful world of ballet all over again.
What a fabulous way to spend an afternoon, donāt you agree? I absolutely adored everything about it, from the adorable sheep in the park, to the fantastic show, to that perfectly delicious slice of strawberry cake at "The Sugarplum Fairy" ā which, as luck would have it, was actually shaped like a swan! Iām convinced my intuition has gotten me used to spotting swans in every imaginable form!
After all this excitement, you might think I needed to head straight to bedā¦ But Iād planned something really special for myself!
I had made my own little "swan haven" in my hotel room, which included, naturally, a tutu! Not just any tutu ā my āFaireham swan tutuā! (I know, I know ā another little play on wordsā¦)
My hotel room became a mini ballet studio! The curtains were pulled back, and my swan tutu was spread out across the chaise lounge, shimmering in the moonlight that poured in through the windows.
For hours, I pirouetted and practiced, drawing on all the beauty and emotion of the evening's show, until eventually, exhausted but full of joy, I finally decided to settle in for the night. It was quite literally the best swan-themed sleep ever.
Fareham, my darlings, was an absolute delight! I promise I'll tell you all about my new pink tutu obsession and how you can all learn ballet moves thatāll have everyone saying āEmma, you graceful swan!ā It was such an inspiring day that I literally cannot wait to plan my next ballet-themed adventure!
P.S. I think I may have stumbled upon a hidden talent... I actually started taking photos in the style of āBallet Streetā which is one of my favorite trends at the moment. Youāll be seeing loads more pictures like this very soon. Just you wait. I think Iām going to rock it!
Until next time, may your steps be light and your dreams be pink!
Love, Emma
