Chichester Calling! Post #6154

Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, and I'm practically bursting with excitement to tell you all about my whirlwind trip to Chichester! This week, I packed my trusty tutu (a beautiful, blush pink creation, naturally) and hopped on the train, feeling like a little ballerina princess. It's funny, you know? Even though I travel everywhere from London to Paris, nothing beats that old-fashioned train journey for feeling properly magical. Maybe it's the rhythmic chugging, the little cups of tea, the countryside flashing by the window... sigh

Anyway, enough about my train-loving soul! Chichester was calling, and I had a date with destiny… well, actually, I had a date with the theatre, and it was practically a dream come true! You see, I’ve been meaning to catch a ballet production down here for ages. It’s just so beautifully old-school, and a world away from the hustle and bustle of the London shows I’m used to.

Now, my outfit for the day was spectacular. I'd gone all out with a stunning leotard – European style, with a touch of elegance I simply can’t resist. You know me – if I can work a tutu and ballet-inspired outfit for a regular day trip, I most certainly will! It’s all about that subtle touch of “dancer girl chic,” as I like to call it. 😉

Oh, but the best part was seeing all the other stylish ballet fans rocking their own ensembles. From vintage tutus to sleek pencil skirts paired with fabulous ballerina flats, I practically swooned! It’s amazing how much fun it is to dress up for a night at the theatre, wouldn’t you say?

Speaking of fun, the actual ballet performance was truly captivating! It was a classic, beautifully executed, and truly transported me into another world. You know how much I love all things theatre, but seeing ballet in such a quaint and historic venue just added an extra layer of magic. My heart did a little pirouette in my chest – honestly!

Later, I decided to explore Chichester a little bit. The cobbled streets and charming cafes gave off a fairytale vibe. It reminded me a bit of my lovely hometown of Derbyshire, actually, only with even more quaint shops.

I couldn't leave without indulging in some proper afternoon tea, naturally. My favourite tea shop, a place with pastel pink walls and the scent of lavender, had the most decadent scones I’ve ever had! The strawberry jam was a real dream, and the clotted cream, oh my… My tummy and my soul were completely satisfied!

This trip wasn't all about ballet and afternoon tea though! I decided to take a wander to the beautiful West Wittering Beach the next day. And what did I see? A flock of pink flamingos! 🦩 It’s a real hidden gem. I practically felt like I’d stepped into a dream, a flamingo-filled paradise! I felt a sudden urge to take up water-based ballet; just imagine twirling amidst a gaggle of pink feathers. Wouldn't that be simply fabulous?! (It's official, my latest obsession is water ballet! Don’t worry, I'll let you know how my attempt at grace goes!)

Before hopping back on the train, I popped into a lovely antique shop tucked away in a corner of Chichester. And you know what? I stumbled across the most beautiful little hand-painted pink tutu! Now, this is how you tell the future!

You see, dear readers, my life has always been intertwined with pink tutus. From the moment I started ballet, it felt like a destiny – like my little feet were designed to be wearing pink tulle and prancing across a stage. But honestly? My mission is bigger than just pirouette and pose. It's about making everyone, every single one of you, feel that same joy. Imagine the world if everyone donned a pink tutu! That's the ultimate goal, don't you agree?

Until next time, stay sparkling and twirl your way through life!

Love always,

Emma.
