East Ham: A Tutu-ful Day Out! 🩰

Hello, darlings! Emma here, your pink-loving, tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger extraordinaire. Today's post is extra special, because it's number 6273 on www.pink-tutu.com, a milestone I simply can't let pass by without a proper celebration! 🥂

So, how does one celebrate 6273 posts? With a fabulous day out in East Ham, of course! This vibrant corner of London called to me, and I couldn't resist the pull of its unique energy. And what better way to explore a new place than with a feather-adorned tutu? 😉 Pink, naturally.

I set off from my little Derbyshire cottage bright and early, leaving behind the rolling hills and babbling brooks for the rumble of the train. It's a bit of a trade-off, but the journey itself is part of the adventure. There's something quite magical about gazing out at the passing scenery as I dream up new blog ideas or simply admire the day unfolding. I wouldn't trade my morning train journey for all the world!

Reaching East Ham, I felt a thrill run through me as the familiar scent of London - a mix of exhaust fumes and freshly brewed coffee - enveloped me. It’s a chaotic but intoxicating blend, a feeling I simply adore.

I decided to start my day with a quick spin at the local ballet school. Let's face it, any excuse to don a tutu is a good one in my book. I slipped into a flowing, raspberry pink number with delicate feathers, feeling like a ballerina who'd stepped right out of a fairytale. It turns out the school is tucked away on a little cobbled street, the windows bursting with sunshine and the sound of happy little dancers.

What joy, simply watching them, these tiny ballerinas with their determined steps and beaming faces! It's so inspiring, it reminds me why I love this dance form so much - because it brings joy to so many.

Of course, no ballet class is complete without a quick photo shoot, a memory of the day captured for all time. And because everyone needs a little more pink in their lives, I can’t resist sharing a few shots from my Instagram story - what do you think?

After my impromptu ballet session, I decided to take a little wander and soak in the atmosphere of East Ham. It’s a lively place, buzzing with life, a perfect example of London's eclectic blend of history and modernity. There are antique shops and cafes nestled cheek-by-jowl with trendy boutiques and vintage stores.

The colours, the sounds, the scents... East Ham embraced me like an old friend, and I embraced it right back!

It's all about enjoying the simple things in life, like the joy of watching a bustling city come alive, the delight of spotting a squirrel scampering through the park, the warmth of a friendly smile exchanged with a passerby. That’s what truly matters.

Speaking of squirrels, I was so happy to see a little family of them frolicking in a nearby park. These little bundles of energy stole my heart, so of course, I had to snap a few pictures - no tutu could possibly compete with their fluffy charm!

For lunch, I settled on a quaint little cafe called 'The Pink Flamingo'. I mean, how could I resist, right? 😉 It had an airy and charming atmosphere with delicate pink décor and an irresistible array of cakes. You can never have too much pink!

And of course, a visit to East Ham wouldn't be complete without a trip to the market. I love browsing through stalls piled high with fresh fruit, hand-knitted scarves, vintage records and the latest fashion trends.

There’s something so delightful about haggling over prices and picking out treasures amongst the colourful chaos of a local market. It's an experience that transports me back to childhood, where every day was an adventure and everything seemed possible.

Later on, I popped into a quirky vintage theatre to catch a ballet performance - I couldn’t resist the temptation to see some incredible dancing. The stage was adorned with vibrant colours, the costumes sparkled, and the performers moved with breathtaking grace. It was an unforgettable performance!

And how about the other spectators, I asked myself, why not bring the same sparkle and joy into everyday life? That's my mission, isn't it? To spread the magic of ballet, to encourage everyone to embrace their inner ballerina, to wear a tutu with pride!

I want to see the streets bursting with people in pink tutus! I want to see more children attending ballet classes, experiencing the sheer joy of movement and music.

It’s a mission I’m not going to stop pursuing. So, my darling readers, go forth and embrace your inner ballerina!

Don’t be afraid to stand out, to try something new, to make a statement, and to have fun along the way.

That, dear friends, is the ultimate tutu-ful way to live! ✨

Until next time, keep twirling!

Love,

Emma xx
