Weston-super-Mare: A Tutu-licious Trip to the Seaside!

Oh my darling readers! It's your favourite tutu-wearing travel enthusiast, Emma, back with another delightful adventure! Today I'm whisking you away to the sunny shores of Weston-super-Mare, where I'm embracing the seaside vibes in a way only a pink tutu can – with a touch of culinary inspiration!

This time, instead of my usual ballet-themed get-up, I've decided to channel my inner foodie and sport a tulle masterpiece inspired by the delicious treats Weston-super-Mare has to offer! Just picture this – a delightful pastel pink tutu with delicate layers of ruffles, a perfect match for the candy floss I plan on devouring later! But hold on, it gets even better. This tutu isn't just a fashion statement – it's a miniature edible masterpiece. You see, the bottom layer of my skirt is embellished with hand-stitched little appliquΓ© versions of all my favourite seaside treats – juicy strawberries, sticky toffee apples, plump ice-cream scoops, and the irresistible whiff of fish and chips (don't worry, they're just in miniature!)

Let me tell you, traveling to Weston-super-Mare is a pure joy, particularly for a ballet-obsessed, horse-loving gal like me! A delightful train journey from Derbyshire, complete with an entertaining reading session (currently tackling "Anna Karenina", you see) and a hot cuppa (a must for any self-respecting Derbyshire girl), deposited me in this picturesque seaside haven. The fresh salty air immediately fills me with inspiration!

Weston-super-Mare itself is a visual delight. The promenade is bustling with life, with folks enjoying ice cream, strolling along the shore, and even trying their hand at mini-golf – such good fun! Of course, a visit to the iconic Grand Pier is a must for every visitor, offering amusement arcades, exhilarating rides, and panoramic views of the sparkling sea. Honestly, I could spend a whole afternoon just twirling along the promenade in my tulle delight, embracing the sights and sounds of this lively seaside town.

Now, onto the highlight of my trip – the food! It wouldn't be a proper seaside adventure without indulging in a little culinary delight, would it? Fish and chips are a must, of course, and Weston-super-Mare boasts some of the finest fish and chip shops in the area, boasting crisp, golden batter and fish that melts in your mouth. The salty sea air makes the fish taste even better, if that's possible. And no seaside trip would be complete without a generous scoop of ice cream – I opted for a strawberry and cream swirl, of course!

Later on, I plan on treating myself to a cup of hot chocolate and a slice of cake (it’s practically obligatory for a proper girly day out!). And for dinner, I have my sights set on a delightful seafood feast – fresh prawns, plump oysters, and maybe a piece of perfectly grilled salmon! After all, a dancer's gotta eat!

The afternoon is calling my name. I can hear the cheerful shouts of excited children at the pier and feel the gentle warmth of the sun on my face. I have a feeling a good book, a spot of seaside people-watching, and maybe a game of miniature golf will be the perfect way to round out this blissful day.

Now, tell me darling readers, what's your favourite seaside activity? Are you a sunbather, a beach bum, a water sport fanatic, or maybe a little bit of all three? I'd love to hear your adventures!

And remember, dear readers, it's never too late to embrace the beauty of ballet and the elegance of a pink tutu! Whether it's a class at your local dance studio or a visit to your local ballet theatre, take that leap of faith, wear a tutu with pride, and discover the magic of dance for yourself!

Until next time, happy dancing!

With love, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
