Worcester, Oh Worcester! Tutu-ing Around The City #7020

Hey darlings! Emma here, back from a fabulous trip to Worcester, a city that surprised me with its charm and, dare I say it, its tutu-worthy spirit!

It all started with a delightful train journey from Derbyshire. Honestly, the only thing more lovely than travelling by train is doing so with a trusty companion – my very own pink tutu. It's become a signature, haven't you noticed? I get the funniest looks when I waltz down the carriage, but hey, a girl's gotta stand out!

Upon arrival in Worcester, my senses were immediately captivated by the history that whispered from every cobbled street corner. Worcester Cathedral was simply magnificent - those towering spires reaching for the sky just screamed 'grand ballet finale'! But as I continued my exploration, it was the everyday life that truly stole my heart. Imagine my delight upon finding a tiny bookshop filled to the brim with all manner of enchanting tales and a coffee shop serving the most delicious hot chocolate – all within a short, but tutu-friendly stroll!

Then came the real highlight of my trip. I’d been to Worcester a few times before, but I'd never been to Worcester Swan Theatre. I've got to tell you, I was blown away by its intimate charm! They were staging a production of ‘The Nutcracker’, which has to be my all-time favourite Christmas ballet! Seeing those exquisite costumes, hearing that familiar Tchaikovsky score – oh, my heart soared! And as I twirled along the aisles in my own little pink tutu during the intermission, I could see everyone’s eyes lighting up! My heart simply burst with joy at seeing everyone enjoying this wonderful production, I just had to bring some joy to the show. I think it’s time for a full-scale pink tutu campaign – more on that later!

Now, Worcester may not be a major metropolitan city, but it has an energy and a warmth that’s totally infectious! It's like a haven for the tutu-wearing ballet aficionado – even if I do say so myself. In fact, I think I discovered a hidden gem – Worcester Ballet School - they were holding their open evening, so I just had to peek inside. All the young students had so much enthusiasm, such dazzling passion, you know, the kind that truly reminds you why ballet is so very special! And you'll never guess what I saw: one of their little dancers rocking a tiny pink tutu. I mean, seriously, my heart melted! Seeing that just reinforced my belief that ballet is for everyone – all ages, shapes, and sizes – and wearing a pink tutu just adds a touch of magical fairy dust!

Now, as a true Derbyshire girl, it would be an utter disgrace if I didn't indulge in a bit of wildlife spotting. Luckily, Worcester was more than up for the challenge! I had the most fabulous time in Worcester Woods. It was a wonderland of tall trees, winding paths, and chattering birds - a truly tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. I even caught sight of a playful family of deer, their graceful movements almost echoing those of ballet dancers – so graceful, so elegant! I spent an hour lost in the beauty of it all, and, I’ll be honest, with a little twirling here and there. Who could resist a gorgeous glade?

But this journey wouldn't be complete without mentioning my stay at the Worcester Arms, a gorgeous little inn with a character all of its own. The crackling fireplace, the plush armchairs, and the delicious smells wafting from the kitchen - it felt like stepping straight out of a fairytale. Oh, and did I mention they had a stunning balcony with a view of the river Severn? Pure magic, honestly. And I knew just what I needed to bring out to accentuate that beauty - my lovely pink tutu!

Of course, no trip would be complete without a spot of shopping, and Worcester didn't disappoint. A gorgeous independent boutique called 'La Belle Vie' stole my heart with its elegant dresses and charming accessories - all with that little touch of femininity I adore! And what would a shopping spree be without a matching set of pink ballet shoes for the journey home? I must say, even my feet felt glamorous!

Leaving Worcester, I couldn't help but feel a bittersweet mix of sadness and excitement. I already miss the enchanting city, its friendly people, and the stunning scenery, but I can’t wait to tell you all about my next adventure, especially after finding so many wonderfully fashionable people embracing a bit of ballet! Maybe I’ll even pick up another tutu on my next outing, just to be ready.

Do check in tomorrow for another magical journey, my loves! Until then, may your lives be filled with twirls, joy, and perhaps a touch of pink tutu magic.

Stay fabulous,

Emma
