Cramlington Calling: Tutu Adventures & Pink Power!

#TutuBlog 2019-01-11 (Post #8227)

Hello my darling tutus! It’s Emma here, your favourite pink-loving, tutu-obsessed ballet devotee, bringing you another daily dose of dance-tastic joy from the fabulous world of pink-tutu.com!

Today’s adventure takes me on a whistle-stop tour to the lovely town of Cramlington, just a short jaunt up north from my beloved Derbyshire. The journey, as always, was half the fun! A comfortable carriage ride on the East Coast Main Line – always a great way to unwind, with a good book, a little sketching, and of course, some essential tutu-twirling!

Now, Cramlington might not be the first place you’d associate with tutus and all things ballet, but you'd be surprised! It’s a hidden gem for lovers of dance. The Cramlington Town Centre is vibrant and lively, and nestled within its heart is a beautiful performing arts centre with a delightful studio offering a whole range of dance classes. It’s just begging to be explored by a ballerina like me!

I'd booked myself onto a beginner’s ballet class. Perfect for me, as I love finding new ways to refine my moves. It was a real joy to be surrounded by such a diverse group of people – some experienced dancers, some complete beginners, everyone united by the sheer delight of moving to the music.

The studio itself was airy and filled with light, just what you want for your dance sessions. I particularly loved the giant wall mirror that allowed us to perfect our technique, from the delicate pliés to the elegant tendus. I'm already starting to feel the benefits, with a bit of extra flexibility and an added spring to my step!

And, of course, I didn’t let the occasion pass without showcasing my signature pink tutu. Now, Cramlington has a rather quirky, industrial vibe with its steelworks heritage, but let me tell you, my little pink tutu just melted everyone’s hearts! A little bit of femininity and fun certainly does add a splash of magic to even the most unexpected places. It was as if I brought a touch of whimsy to the whole town.

The class ended with a sweet treat of homemade apple crumble from the lovely café just across the street from the performing arts centre. Fueling up with a bit of homely warmth and local goodness is always essential after a ballet session!

My adventures didn't stop there, oh no! As I strolled through the centre, I found a local theatre playing host to a delightful amateur production of The Nutcracker. I couldn't resist grabbing a last-minute ticket! Seeing local talent come to life on stage is such a rewarding experience. Watching those youngsters taking on iconic roles was absolutely inspirational – pure passion and joy pouring from the stage!

While watching the Nutcracker, I couldn’t help but ponder… how did these young, dedicated individuals get started with ballet? They clearly have the same kind of passion for dance that I do.

This got me thinking… perhaps it's time to share a little piece of myself with the wider community here in Cramlington. After all, ballet is a magical art form that has the power to lift our spirits and bring us all together.

So, here’s my mission! My new goal is to bring a bit of ballet joy to the good folk of Cramlington, perhaps through a local class, a tutu-themed event or even a small performance. Imagine… everyone in Cramlington sporting pink tutus, their eyes twinkling with joy as they glide through the streets! I can already hear the strains of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker in the background as this little town becomes a haven for ballet enthusiasts!

Stay tuned my darling tutus, this is just the beginning!

*Coming soon to a town near you... the pink-tutu revolution! *

Love,

Emma xx

PS I couldn't leave Cramlington without sharing my love for nature. This region is surprisingly rich in wildlife! After my dance class, I found myself on a picturesque trail just a short distance away from the town centre. As I wandered along the path, I encountered some charming furry friends: adorable hedgehogs foraging for food, squirrels bouncing amongst the trees, and the unmistakable trill of robins singing their hearts out. I just love those cute, fluffy creatures! It's amazing to see how much life thrives even in the most unexpected corners! It definitely inspires me to bring that sense of vitality to all aspects of my life!
