Edgware: Tutu Adventures in Pink!

Hello lovelies! It's Emma here, ready to whisk you away to another magical day in the world of tutus, travel, and everything pink. Welcome to Pink Tutu Blog, post number 8889! I'm so excited to share this journey with you all.

Today's adventure finds me in Edgware, a little slice of London charm. Stepping off the train, a wave of familiar excitement washed over me. There's just something about a new place that sparks my inner ballerina. My bright pink tutu was definitely feeling the love, swaying with each stride I took towards the bustling town centre.

It wouldn't be a proper #TutuTravel without a little pink touch, right? I’d been scouting out vintage shops all week, and found the perfect outfit for this outing: a stunning coral floral dress and a chunky knit cardigan that added a dash of cosy comfort. This look just felt… Edwardian!

Before venturing into the heart of Edgware, I spotted a quaint café with the most delicious-looking raspberry macarons. Of course, I couldn’t resist! A delicious pastry with my hot tea made the perfect pick-me-up.

My first stop was the stunning Edgwarebury Park. Nestled right in the heart of the area, the park was a symphony of autumnal hues – vibrant reds, burnt oranges, and golden yellows dappled with the warm afternoon sun. The smell of autumn leaves filled the air, bringing a touch of nostalgic magic. And the squirrels! They were just scampering about, oblivious to my awe at their incredible acrobatics. I love wildlife so much! It brings me back to the simpler things in life.

I wandered through the park, each crunch of the leaves under my ballet slippers like a symphony of sound. I just love how ballet takes you back to the fundamentals: feeling your body in motion, being grounded, appreciating nature. The squirrels really made me want to bust out a few pirouettes under the canopy of trees – and luckily no one stopped me!

After my woodland adventure, it was time for a little shopping spree. I found myself browsing through antique shops, hidden amongst the regular shops. The smells of old books and dusty treasures, the creaking wooden floorboards, it just added to the whole magical atmosphere. And there were so many amazing trinkets: Victorian earrings, an old locket with a tiny photograph tucked inside. Each piece had a story waiting to be unravelled, and I felt drawn to each one. This really took me out of the 21st century!

Feeling invigorated after my explorations, it was time to enjoy a little bit of Edgware's cultural scene. The Town Hall theatre has a stunning facade and hosted a show that was an incredible mix of theatre, storytelling, and contemporary dance. I even caught sight of a couple of the actors getting ready before the show – just a fleeting glance but I felt so incredibly privileged. This theatre felt truly alive and energetic, and I loved soaking up the buzz before the show started.

The dance piece that I saw was incredible. It was this contemporary ballet that explored themes of connection, growth, and finding beauty in the unexpected. It was truly captivating. Each movement was fluid, with an artistic fluidity and grace that resonated deep within me. The powerful emotions captured in each pose, the sheer talent of the dancers… it was breathtaking. And all set to an original soundtrack that really took the performance to another level.

After the show, I enjoyed a delightful supper in a quaint little Italian restaurant just down the street. I savored the taste of authentic pasta and the warm, friendly atmosphere. It was the perfect way to end the evening and bring this magical day to a close. I was feeling completely relaxed, feeling the positive vibes of the night. I'm starting to love travelling around England and taking in the rich culture and charm of each town.

My adventures in Edgware reminded me why I love traveling and exploring. It's not just about visiting new places but about discovering something new within yourself. And for me, that something is the sheer joy of dance, a sense of self-discovery and that unquenchable desire to encourage everyone to embrace their inner ballerina! Because let’s face it, a world where everyone wears a pink tutu and loves ballet – that’s a world I want to live in!

That’s it for today lovelies. I can’t wait to show you all what I’ll be up to next. And until then, keep spreading the love for ballet, and remember: there's a pink tutu waiting for you out there – all you need to do is embrace it. And maybe try ballet yourself? It truly changes your life.

I’m off to Derbyshire now – on horseback, obviously.

Happy dancing!

Love, Emma
