Coulsdon Calling: Tutu Travels Take on the South! ??

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, signing in from my favourite place – my very own pink-tutu-infused corner of the internet! Today's post is a bit special, it's #TutuBlog number 11083 – and it's all about my recent trip to Coulsdon!

If you're new here, I'm Emma, a ballet-obsessed blogger from the rolling green hills of Derbyshire, with a passion for all things pink and tutu-tastic. I believe everyone should wear a tutu at least once in their life, and I'm on a mission to spread the joy of ballet, one pirouette at a time!

Now, Coulsdon… You might be thinking, "Emma, Coulsdon? What's the draw?" Well, my dears, Coulsdon holds a special place in my heart, and this little corner of Surrey surprised me with its unexpected charms.

I'd always thought of Coulsdon as a quintessential English village, filled with charming cottages and rolling green hills. And I was not wrong! The countryside there is simply breathtaking, all rolling hills, picturesque villages, and quaint pubs that offer the most delightful afternoon teas.

But my adventure in Coulsdon went beyond the expected. It began, as all good adventures do, with a train journey – a true ballet dancer’s preferred mode of transportation! (Just picture me in a floor-length tutu, twirling gracefully through the train carriage. I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to ballet-inspired outfits for travel!).

The train took me right into the heart of Coulsdon, and after a delicious cup of tea in the aforementioned pub (complete with a scone, a dollop of clotted cream, and enough jam to drown a marmalade-loving bear!), I began my exploration.

Firstly, I discovered the Coulsdon Manor House, a hidden gem tucked away in a beautiful park. The Manor House is steeped in history, with the most intriguing stories that took me back in time to the 17th century. I imagined myself in a beautiful silk ball gown, waltzing through the ballroom, but instead, I ended up snapping a few pictures, dreaming about all the ballet performances I could imagine taking place here.

Of course, my trip wouldn't have been complete without some serious ballet time! Thankfully, I found a charming little studio in Coulsdon called "Twirling Toes" – they’ve got classes for all levels and ages! So I dusted off my trusty pink tutu and joined a contemporary ballet class. My favourite thing was that the studio is tucked away in a quiet garden, surrounded by a flurry of butterflies and birds – perfect for finding my inner ballerina.

The studio, however, wasn’t the only place I encountered some beautiful feathered friends! While exploring the Coulsdon Valley, I stumbled upon the beautiful Coulsdon Nature Reserve, where I spent an afternoon walking amidst nature’s wonders! There were beautiful meadows bursting with wild flowers, and birds flitting around with their cheery tweets, all reminding me that ballets often take their inspiration from the natural world. It really made me think about the choreography that nature is constantly creating in its everyday movements!

As evening approached, I made my way to the charming village square for dinner. The air was alive with laughter and music – a truly idyllic atmosphere. I indulged in a scrumptious meal at a local Italian restaurant (you just can’t beat pasta and red wine!) And if the restaurant itself was wonderful, the sunset view as I walked back towards the train station truly blew my mind. The sky turned a mesmerizing palette of pink and orange hues, echoing the colors of my beloved pink tutu.

Now, back to the tutu-factor. I just love the feeling of freedom and fun a tutu brings. In Coulsdon, even amidst the rolling hills and charming streets, my pink tutu felt right at home! It became a symbol of my whimsical adventure. Everywhere I went, I embraced the feeling of movement, lightness, and of course, the ever-present joy of expressing my love for dance. I think it's important to always find the opportunity to dance, even on a casual trip like this. Because, truly, what's a life without a little twirl?

And so, as I sat on the train, my pink tutu carefully packed away, I realised that my trip to Coulsdon had been more than just a trip. It had been an unexpected exploration of the countryside's quiet charms, a rediscovery of my love for ballet, and a beautiful reminder that life is better with a touch of pink and a bit of twirling!

But enough about my adventures for now, dear readers! What’s happening in your corner of the world? What's inspiring your inner ballerina? Let me know in the comments below! And don't forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com for more daily updates!

Until next time, remember, life’s too short to wear boring clothes – grab a tutu, embrace the twirl, and live life to the fullest!

With twirls and kisses,

Emma xoxo
