Hello darlings! Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to Southampton, a coastal city on England's south coast that truly captured my heart! As always, pink and tutus were front and centre, creating a truly unforgettable adventure. ??
My journey started in the most charming way – a train ride from Derbyshire, passing rolling hills and quaint villages. I'm such a train girl! The rhythmic clatter and the feeling of adventure is second to none. It always puts me in a dreamy mood, especially when I can soak in the views from my window. And oh, I must mention my travelling outfit - a pale pink linen dress, a bright pink beret and of course, a black tulle tutu tied at the waist. You just never know when you'll encounter a spontaneous dance opportunity!
Southampton welcomed me with open arms – literally, because I couldn't help but hug the lovely local shopkeepers who greeted me with smiles and kind words. It’s so lovely how a bit of pink and a sprinkle of tutus can instantly brighten someone's day. ?
Ballet Delights:
My primary mission, as always, was to embrace the world of ballet, and Southampton delivered. First stop: a stunning performance by the Royal Ballet. It was captivating, breathtaking, and left me yearning to twirl right along with them! Afterwards, I made a bee-line to a charming local ballet studio, and oh my goodness! These girls are amazing! The passion they showed in their pirouettes and leaps filled me with joy. And I'm thrilled to announce that I got to try out their new ballet-inspired workout! Imagine a session that feels like a magical dance lesson while also toning those ballet-ready legs? Divine!
Beyond the Stage:
But ballet wasn't my only adventure. I spent a lovely afternoon at the SeaCity Museum, learning about the city's maritime history and soaking up the atmosphere of the Solent, the waterway that stretches across to the Isle of Wight. I also popped into a quaint little wildlife park, which housed an adorable array of animals. Seeing the meerkats in their enclosure made me giggle. Who knew these little furry creatures could be so entertaining? And guess what? I even spotted a horse-drawn carriage in the heart of the city! It felt so incredibly romantic. ?
Southampton Style:
Southampton is brimming with style. I love how they combine the charm of seaside living with sophisticated architecture, and I had to indulge in some souvenir shopping! I found the cutest little boutique tucked away in a side street with an amazing collection of pink accessories and vintage lace – a total delight! Imagine my happiness when I stumbled upon a store that offered a unique line of tulle scarves and silk flowers in all shades of pink. Talk about a tutu-lover’s paradise!
Sharing the Tutu Love:
To end my whirlwind visit, I decided to host a small, intimate ballet workshop in a charming tea room. We had a lovely afternoon of twirls, leaps and a delightful selection of pink cupcakes, all washed down with a healthy dose of laughter and inspiration. The joy on the ladies’ faces as they embraced the grace and power of movement was truly priceless. We were all a little pink, a little tutu-fied, and completely ready to face the world. ?
I left Southampton with a heart full of happiness and memories to last a lifetime. This charming city captured my heart with its stunning views, charming streets, and warm hospitality. And you can bet, I'll be back, tutus and all, for another pink-tinted adventure!
* Until next time, stay beautiful, embrace the pink and dance your way through life! ?*
