#TutuBlog Post #11124
Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind adventure to the charming city of Oxford! And as always, my trusty pink tutu came along for the ride, this time sporting a rather delicious-looking food print. Can you guess what it is? ? You’ll have to keep reading to find out!
Now, I know what you're thinking – "Emma, you love trains!" and you're absolutely right! This time I decided to spice things up a little and take a different form of transportation: a horse! Yes, a real, live horse! I actually booked a horse-drawn carriage tour and let me tell you, it was absolutely delightful. I felt like I’d stepped straight into a Jane Austen novel. Plus, I managed to convince the driver to let me wear my tutu for a few snaps – so classy!
Oxford itself is a real gem. The history just breathes around you, the cobbled streets are just begging for a pirouette, and the university buildings – absolutely stunning. I mean, where else can you see such magnificent architecture while having a spot of afternoon tea? The answer is nowhere!
But enough about the scenery, let’s talk about the real star of the show – food! Now, I may have said that my tutu sported a food print but I’m not talking about your standard fruit salad or strawberry swirl! I'm talking about the most fabulous design – a delicious assortment of afternoon tea treats! I had a bespoke tutu made with a printed design of freshly baked scones, delicate finger sandwiches, mini Victoria sponge cakes, and even a tiny pot of clotted cream! My dear friend Lily, who is a talented fashion designer, actually hand-painted the whole design onto the tutu. We got lots of compliments on the street! I had so many passersby stop me to ask if they could take pictures.
And speaking of compliments, let’s talk about my new obsession - ballet at the Oxford Playhouse. The performance was mesmerising – an interpretation of the classic Nutcracker, but with a quirky, modern twist! It had everything – spectacular costumes, soaring music, and incredibly talented dancers. I practically floated out of the theatre! Of course, I wore my food-themed tutu for the occasion – a perfect blend of classic and playful!
Now, no trip to Oxford would be complete without indulging in the famous Oxford University Botanic Gardens. It’s an absolute haven of serenity! Imagine: graceful swans gliding on tranquil lakes, fragrant flowers in every imaginable colour, and birdsong filling the air – it’s like a scene from a fairytale. And the best part? I managed to snag a few snaps of myself doing some ballet stretches surrounded by the stunning blossoms! ??
The beauty of travel is finding those special moments that resonate with you deeply, and Oxford truly delivered. From the elegant charm of the horse-drawn carriage to the mesmerising performances at the Playhouse, from the stunning botanical gardens to the delectable afternoon tea, every single experience was pure magic! And you know me, I'm always searching for the perfect tutu for every adventure.
Speaking of, my dear readers, what are you waiting for? Grab your favourite pink tutu, pick a city, and go on an adventure of your own! It’s never too late to live your dreams, dance your heart out, and wear a touch of pink – and who knows, maybe we'll bump into each other on our travels!
