Tutu Tuesday: 1968-08-27: A Glimpse of Tutu Glory!

Hello lovelies! Welcome back to another #TutuTuesday! Today we're travelling back to the vibrant, exciting year of 1968, the year of the moon landing and peace protests, and for us Tutu lovers, a year brimming with exciting, fresh fashion and innovative dance.

You wouldn't believe how many delightful ballet productions graced the stages around the world this week in August 1968!

The Royal Ballet in London, oh it was truly glorious! They're presenting a double bill: "Giselle" and "The Dream". Imagine it, lovelies! The sheer drama and grace of "Giselle" with that beautiful score, followed by the whimsical wonder of "The Dream", all in the same evening! It's truly an exciting experience and a dream come true for every tutu-loving soul. And of course, you've got to see "The Dream" with that glorious, vibrant tutus, it's a visual feast for the eyes! And those stunning ballerinas just floating across the stage! Simply divine!

But London wasn't the only place where the tutu was dancing!

Over in Paris, "The Bolshoi Ballet", famed for their strength and grandeur, is captivating audiences with their version of "Swan Lake". Talk about graceful ballerinas transforming into stunning, yet melancholic swans! And that exquisite tutu... it just flows beautifully like a shimmering, white cloud. You truly feel every emotional ripple with its flowing tiers and delicate detailing!

Oh, it was also so much fun to hear about "Margot Fonteyn" making a glorious return to the stage at this time! "Giselle" on that magical stage of the Royal Opera House is definitely something to see. The entire experience is like a breathtaking spectacle! Can you imagine being in the audience watching her performance, with those delicate steps, every movement so fluid, that incredible tutu? Ahhh Pure joy, my darlings!

Back in England, there were some rather exciting, contemporary ballet performances at the Sadler's Wells Theatre, with those beautifully designed contemporary costumes! I heard that the "London Contemporary Dance Theatre" presented an exhilarating piece called "A Song of the Earth" - and they had "the most stunning jumps, twists and turns" according to my London correspondent. That's what we like to hear, lovelies!

And you know me, I love to keep an eye out for what's trending! Hereโ€™s the latest I found from the London Fashion Week! Think shimmering, think * bold colour palettes and think *extravagant headdresses! ** This period was definitely all about glamour and making a statement.

What does that all mean, lovelies? Well, just remember...

The tutu is an eternally stylish statement, a fashion accessory that truly encapsulates the vibrancy, joy and energy of dance. So grab a pink tulle or bold silk, go on, and let your imagination soar!

Because in this fabulous world of dance and fashion, everything is possible...

Stay tuned for next week's #TutuTuesday, when we travel back through time for another exciting exploration!

See you then!
