Tutu Tuesday: #7397 - Back to the 70s! π©°
Hey darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing blogger, Emma, back with another #TutuTuesday journey into the world of ballet fashion. This week, we're stepping back in time to October 2nd, 1973. Grab your teacups and biscuits, because this is a trip you don't want to miss!
Last week I had the most wonderful time in the grand salons of Paris. You know, I have a theory β everything's more chic in Paris, even the pigeons! I even saw the most darling poodle in a tiny pink tutu. Truly the cutest thing! But today, we're hopping on the train and heading for the land of dreams β New York City! β¨
Now, 1973, oh my, what a year! Disco fever was in full swing, flares were king (or should I say queen? π), and, oh those fabulously colourful prints! Don't get me wrong, darling, the 70s were a bitβ¦ well, a bit 'out there' at times, but the fashion is definitely worth a nod of appreciation. It's all about embracing those wild, playful vibes, don't you think?
The most exciting thing? That amazing combination of the elegance of ballet and the freedom of 70s style! Can you imagine swirling and twirling in a flowing, flared tutu paired with those amazing platform heels? A bit of bohemian whimsy and a touch of classic grace! That, my dears, was what ballet was all about in 1973!
On October 2nd, 1973, the world was lucky enough to watch Rudolf Nureyev in "Giselle". I'm off to watch this very performance tonight in New York! This very performance actually took place in New York, just last week! Oh, how wonderful is it that I can dance across time like this? π©°
But, even if you can't hop in a time machine with me, darling, there's still plenty of fun to be had right now! What say we embrace some of those glorious 70s trends and sprinkle in a bit of ballet magic for our own Tutu Tuesday outfit inspiration?
Here's a bit of inspiration, to get those creative juices flowing:
A Little Bit of Bohemia: Try pairing a full-length tutu with a flowy, patterned maxi skirt. Layer a cute peasant top, complete with embroidery or a few floral embellishments, for a bit of that boho flair. Throw on a pair of statement boots β platform heels for a touch of vintage fabulousness β and you're good to go, darlings!
Go Disco! Let's not forget the dance floor, darling! A shimmering, sequin-covered tutu in silver or gold would make a sensational statement at your next party. Combine it with a simple, sleek, and high-neck top to create a glamorous silhouette that shouts 70s glam without being overwhelming.
Be Bold, Be Beautiful, Be Pink! Remember, darlings, it's all about having fun with fashion. Embrace bold prints and patterns - think paisley and psychedelic swirls. Add a pop of vibrant pink - pink never goes out of fashion! - for an extra touch of your personal signature style.
Now, I know that wearing a tutu every day might be a little too adventurous for some, but even a hint of tutu can brighten up any outfit. How about a cute pink tutu skirt for a shopping day with the girls or maybe even a tiny tutu as a fun accessory at the local fair? π
No matter where you're venturing this week, darlings, let's keep the ballet spirit alive and bring a touch of our pink tutu magic wherever we go! And, as always, if you're having a tutu Tuesday of your own, snap a picture, tag it with #PinkTutu and share your pink tutu adventure!
Love and sparkles,
Emma π
