Tutu Tuesday #8236: The Pink Perfection of the Late 80s! 🩰

Hey darlings, welcome back to another fabulous Tutu Tuesday on Pink-Tutu.com! It's your girl Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip through the 1980s. Oh my, this era was bursting with colour, bold fashion, and the glorious resurgence of tutus on stage and off! I'm telling you, it's like I walked straight into a musical!

This week we're focusing on a special day – October 31st, 1989! Now, you might be thinking Halloween, but that's only half the story! 1989 saw the release of an absolute dance masterpiece – "The Nutcracker" at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. That's right, this beautiful ballet is a global sensation! Think Clara, sugar plum fairies, snowflakes, and all those incredible tutus… a true delight for the eyes, and a testament to the enduring power of ballet!

But don't worry, I haven't forgotten about our darling London! The Royal Opera House was brimming with exciting shows back then too! The Bolshoi ballet was in town performing their famous “Swan Lake” which, I’m told, had a certain very special something... but hush, I must keep my time travel secrets safe.🤫 Speaking of secrets, have I mentioned the power of pink? Well, 1989 saw an absolute explosion of this beautiful hue! We're talking shocking pink, hot pink, baby pink - every shade imaginable, and the trend swept everything, including… you guessed it! Tutu-land! 🌸

And just how do I know this? Why, I got my hands on a fantastic vintage shop here in London and oh my, the discoveries I made! A lovely pair of pale pink tulle shoes (just a little too big for me!) and a pristine pair of candy pink silk dance leggings – a dream! I can already imagine them pairing perfectly with my own pink tutus for a trip down memory lane!

What better way to channel those 80s vibes than with a gorgeous, playful pink tutu? I found a divine pink one myself, crafted from a delicate and billowing layers of tulle, that whispers a delicate “come and dance with me!” Imagine twirling under the London sky, perhaps to a bouncy synth-pop soundtrack with an adorable pink headband on, a classic 80s style handbag (that doubles as my time travel portal, don’t tell anyone!😜), and a pair of shiny pink boots – now that's the perfect 80s ballet look!

But enough about my adventures – let's talk about yours! Have you been on the hunt for vintage ballet pieces? Maybe you found a fantastic 80s-themed shop filled with tutus and leg warmers, or maybe you caught a performance of "The Nutcracker"? Share your stories with me in the comments, because I absolutely adore hearing about all of your fabulous adventures in tutuland!

For those of you wondering where I’m off to next week, well, let's just say it's a journey of discovery and vibrant fashion! It’s time for another dance-filled voyage and a touch of historical flair! Tune in next Tuesday, darling, and remember, "pink is never enough!" 💗

And until next time, don't forget to spread the love of ballet and rock those tutus with confidence!

See you soon! Emma 💖 www.pink-tutu.com
