#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History: Post 9175
Hello, darling tutus! It's Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood tutu enthusiast, and welcome back to another week of Ballet Tutu History!
Now, buckle up, lovelies, because we're about to embark on a thrilling train journey through the glorious past! Today, we're travelling to the 30th of October, 2007. Imagine, if you will, a world without Instagram or TikTok - I know, I can hardly comprehend it either! ๐
But fear not, darlings, even in 2007, the tutus were still going strong! Back then, the ballet world was ablaze with incredible productions. Now, as you know, my favourite thing in the world is a sparkly pink tutu, and I am utterly convinced they would have made every single ballerina's costume magnificent!
I'm sure you're wondering what the highlight of the ballet world was back in 2007. Let's put on our dancing shoes and explore, shall we?
Stepping Back into 2007
The Royal Ballet
Oh, how I adore The Royal Ballet! It's like stepping into a dream - glittering costumes, stunning performances, and breathtaking sets. And it was in 2007 that the Royal Ballet were showcasing their phenomenal talent with a performance of Swan Lake. You know I love a classic ballet - and I can only imagine the awe-inspiring beauty of their performance. Imagine the incredible grace and artistry of the corps de ballet dancers, those elegant white tutus perfectly embodying the swans! My heart melts just thinking about it!
Beyond The Stage: Fashion and More
Back in 2007, fashion was all about edgy chic! Think leather jackets, skinny jeans, and towering heels. But you know me - I wouldn't be caught dead in anything that wasn't pink! Even though pink wasn't the leading fashion statement back then, you can bet your bottom dollar I would be out there wearing the most flamboyant and charming pink tutu, making sure my sparkle was heard across the whole town!
In 2007, fashion magazines were going wild over Audrey Hepburn, with the actress inspiring a new wave of elegance and classic femininity. How incredible it would have been to wear a pink tutu inspired by the fashion icon herself!
Oh, and have you seen the adorable ballet flats they had in 2007? So perfect for hopping on and off the train with, and they come in every single shade of pink you could possibly imagine! My own favourite, of course, was the most vivid shocking pink!
My Pink Tutu Travels
I've been so lucky to travel the world on the wings of my ballet passion. In 2007, the train was still the king of transport! My trip this week was on the Eastern Railway, chugging along with the sun on my face, taking in the charming landscapes and wearing, of course, my finest pink tutu! (It goes without saying.)
Every stop I made was a symphony of style and grace. Whether it was stepping off the train into the bustling city or taking a leisurely stroll through a quiet country town, my pink tutu was the talk of the town, inspiring everyone to embrace their inner ballerina!
From the Archives:
Let me tell you a little secret! Last week, whilst combing through vintage ballet journals from the archives, I discovered a rather lovely picture of a pink tutu! Imagine, all those years ago, dancers were embracing the loveliness of pink! And just wait till I find the actual tutu. My next project, of course, is to find a gorgeous 2007 pink tutu and bring it back to life.
Spread the Love
That's it for this week's Ballet Tutu History, darlings! But before I go, remember my mission: let's get everyone wearing pink tutus! Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone, be brave, and embrace the magic! Next week, we'll be travelling even further back in time!
Until then, keep sparkling, my lovelies!
