#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History: Post 9464 - The Wonderful World of Tutus, 14th May 2013!

Hello dearies, it's your favourite pink tutu wearing blogger, Emma, back with another edition of #TutuTuesday! It's so exciting, the 14th of May, which means it's another opportunity to celebrate all things tutus! My trusty time machine is buzzing with excitement and is ready to whisk me away on another history adventure - this time, back to the fabulously fashionable 2013!

Let's grab a cuppa, darlings, and dive into a bit of history...

Today, on the 14th of May, 2013, the world is celebrating tutus in all their glorious, graceful glory! As always, my mind races back to my favourite period of tutus, the mid-19th century, where it all started! The beautiful tutu, crafted with painstaking precision, took its form during this exciting period. The legendary Marie Taglioni, a dancer so elegant she seemed to be floating on air, truly made the tutu a symbol of femininity, grace, and artistry. She was a darling, that one, and helped put the tutu firmly on the ballet stage.

This week I'm focusing on a classic story of tutus, a real tale from 1960s fashion that took my breath away! Imagine this, my lovelies: The Nutcracker at London's prestigious Royal Opera House! I felt so proud to see this classic ballet come to life, especially in those iconic tutus. The ballerina's graceful movements were even more breathtaking set against the exquisite backdrop of those delicate tulle and lace tutus. They were truly, absolutely spectacular!

Did you know that tutus were the epitome of femininity? The Victorians went a bit wild for the idea of beautiful, airy fabrics floating in the wind! The silhouette of the early tutu was simple yet elegant, a light and graceful symbol of pure dance! My oh my, just imagine being caught up in the joy and glamour of ballet!

And now, let's step out of the theatre and into the dazzling streets of 2013! Imagine, darling, you're walking down a sunny London street, a gentle breeze blowing, and what do you see? A young woman stepping out of a cafe in a stunning, full, multi-layered tutu, as bright and lovely as the sun. What a spectacle! A vision of pink, red, and yellow tutus filling up those busy streets, it's a beautiful thing to witness!

As I move on through the day, I feel a strange, exciting buzz, as if I'm a character in a vibrant dance sequence, waltzing around a whimsical, colourful London scene. Today, it seems, I am not only transported to 2013 but also living inside the colourful, dazzling pages of a charming storybook!

But enough of my rambling! What's your favourite part about tutu history, my dearies? Which tutu style is your favourite, and what was happening on the 14th of May, 2013 in your world?

Remember, it's never too late to try on a tutu, it's truly an expression of your inner sparkle. It's like taking a leap into the wonderful world of imagination and stepping onto a stage that's your very own!
